The US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will inform President Joe Biden about the progress of a shared US-European Union approach to the Iranian regime and its clandestine attempts to build a nuclear weapon. He will have decided that a strategic change of direction is possible and further mollification of the Iranian regime is not only pointless but dangerous too. Point to be noted that Blinken attended high-level meetings with NATO and senior EU officials. The European External Action Service and its top diplomat (the Spanish socialist Josep Borrell) will have been quick to confirm their priority foreign policy objective regarding the rapid reinstatement of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action nuclear deal. The EU has been desperately trying to find ways of restoring the deeply flawed deal and mollifying the Iranian regime.
It is noteworthy that former US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew America from the JCPOA in 2018 and imposed a range of tough sanctions on the Iranian regime under his maximum pressure campaign. Blinken will be well aware of the pitfalls that such a policy of appeasement will involve, in spite of the EU’s frantic efforts to reopen negotiations with the Iranians. He will know how the theocratic regime continued to construct and test ballistic missiles, in open defiance of the JCPOA and of Resolution 2231 of the UN Security Council. The Iranian regime even expanded its missile program and exported some of its missiles, primarily to its allies like Bashar al-Assad in Syria, the Houthi rebels in Yemen, the Shi’ia militias in Iraq, and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
A German intelligence report said the Iranian regime was continuing to smuggle key parts for ballistic missile construction projects and for the development of nuclear weapons, in spite of signing the nuclear deal and pledging to promote peace and security in the Middle East. The report also said, “There has been little to no decrease in the Islamic Republic’s efforts to gain technology for missiles capable of carrying warheads”. The United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany are 4 of the signatories to the JCPOA. They wrote a joint letter to the UN secretary-general and alleged Tehran of violating the agreement. The Iranian regime has openly boasted how it has accelerated its uranium enrichment process to 20% purity since the United States withdrew from the JCPOA.

From June 15, Brussels Airlines will restart its commercial flights from its hub at Brussels Airport after an interruption of 12 weeks.
On its long haul network, the airline will serve 13 out of its 17 African destinations.From June 22, the airline will restore services to Dakar, Las Palmas, Tenerife, Kinshasa, and Banjul.
Monrovia, Abidjan, Accra, Lome, Douala, Cotonou, Kigali, Entebbe, and Yaounde will restart from July.
In August, Bujumbura route will be restored.The company will gradually add destinations to its flight network to reach 59 destinations in 33 countries in Europe, Africa and the US by August.
