MSME Registration

What is MSME?

As per MSMED or Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Act of 2006, MSME or Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises are classified into two differing types and are as follows:

Service Enterprises are engaged in supplying or providing services.

 

The eligibility criteria for MSME Registration

The difference between the services and manufacturing enterprises is removed by the recent Atma-nirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan Economic Package which was announced by the finance minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman. The investment amount and annual turnover are made similar for industries or enterprises involved in both the service and manufacturing sectors.

 

Documents required for MSME Registration Online

  • Aadhaar card
  • Rent agreement
  • Property paper
  • Canceled Cheque
  • Company Registration i.e., Sale or Purchase Bill and PAN card
  • Business Address Proof
  • For self-owned premise: Lease deed, land tax receipt, possession letter, allotment letter, etc.
  • For rented premise: NOC from the owner , rent receipts, utility bills or documents evidencing the landlord’s ownership, etc.
  • The charges to get an MSME certificate are Rs. 1999 (all-inclusive) per certificate and can be paid by their secured gateways.

MSME Registration Process

  • MSME registration is to be done in the government portal of udyamregistration.gov.in. The registration of MSMEs are often done under the subsequent two categories within the portal
  • For New Entrepreneurs who aren't Registered yet as MSME and
  • For those having registration as EM-II or UAM and For those having registration as EM-II or UAM through Assisted filing
  • For New Entrepreneurs who are not Registered yet as MSME
  • New entrepreneurs got to click the button “For New Entrepreneurs who aren't Registered yet as MSME” shown on the house page for registering MSME. New registration of MSME is done by entering the Aadhaar card number in the following two ways-
  • Registration With PAN Card or
  • Registration Without PAN Card

 

Registration With PAN Card:

  • When clicked on the “For New Entrepreneurs who aren't Registered yet as MSME” button on the homepage of the govt portal, it opens the page for registration and asks to enter the Aadhaar number and therefore the name of the entrepreneur. After entering these details, the “Validate and Generate OTP Button” is to be clicked. Once, this button is clicked and OTP is received and entered, the PAN Verification page opens. If the entrepreneur features a PAN Card, the portal gets the PAN details from the govt databases and automatically fills details on the page. The ITR details are to be filled in by the entrepreneur.
  • Once PAN details are entered, a message appears as “Udyam Registration has already been done through this PAN” and therefore the entrepreneur must click the “Validate PAN” button.
  • After verification of PAN, the Udyam Registration box will appear and the entrepreneurs need to fill in the personal details and details of the plant or industry.
  • Once the details are filled, the “Submit and Get Final OTP” button is clicked, the MSME is registered and a message of successful registration with a reference number will appear. After verification of registration, which may take a few days, the Udyam Registration Certificate is issued.

 

 

Registration Without PAN Card:

  • The button “For New Entrepreneurs who aren't Registered yet as MSME” is to be clicked on the homepage of the govt portal. It opens the page for registration and asks to enter the Aadhaar number and therefore the name of the entrepreneur. After entering these details, the “Validate and Generate OTP Button” is to be clicked. Once, this button is clicked and OTP is received and entered, the PAN Verification page opens. If the entrepreneur doesn't have a PAN Card, the “No” option under the heading “Do you've got PAN?” is to be clicked and then the “Next” button.
  • After the “Next” button is clicked, the MSME Registration Online page opens where the entrepreneur should enter his personal details and plant or industry details.
  • Once the small print are filled in, “Final Submit” is clicked and a many thanks message will appear with the license number .
