Should I uninstall Webroot WebAdvisor? - www.webroot.com/safe

Follow the steps below to reinstall/uninstall Webroot WebAdvisor from your Windows or Mac PC.

 

NOTE: Webroot WebAdvisor is compatible with Windows 7, 8, and 10. However, if your PC is running on Windows Vista or XP, instead of WebAdvisor, Webroot SiteAdvisor will get installed. www.webroot.com/safe download the keycode 2020

 

Here are ways by which you can install Webroot WebAdvisor and SiteAdvisor:

 

  • Via a standalone app, or
  • Through an integrated component of Webroot Windows security product.

If you only wish to inactivate your protection temporarily, use the first option, which disables the browser add-on without uninstalling the program.

 

How to temporarily disable the Webroot WebAdvisor or SiteAdvisor browser add-on

On Chrome

  • Open the Chrome browser.
  • Select the menu icon on the upper right corner (represented as three dots stacked one atop the other).
  • Click on More Tools, and then click on Extensions.
  • Disable the checkmark present next to the Webroot SiteAdvisor or WebAdvisor.

Via Internet Explorer

  • Open the Internet Explorer tab.
  • Click on the ‘Tools’ menu.
  • Select ‘Manage Add-ons’.
  • Choose the Webroot SiteAdvisor or WebAdvisor add-on,and then click on Disable. webroot.com/safe

While using Firefox

  • Open the Firefox tab.
  • Click on the stacked menu icon present in the upper right corner.
  • Select Add-ons.
  • Click on Disable present next to Webroot SiteAdvisor or WebAdvisor.

 

Removing Webroot WebAdvisor / SiteAdvisor (standalone)

After following the steps mentioned above, ensure that you install your product again as soon as you can to remain protected. For that, check out the ‘Related Information’ section given below.

 

Uninstalling Webroot WebAdvisor from Windows

  • Firstly, close all currently running web browsers.
  • Next, click on the ‘Start’ button present on the bottom left of your Windows desktop.
  • Type ‘control panel’ in the search box and press ‘Enter’.

In the Control Panel:

  • Double-click on the ‘Programs and Features’ tab or the ‘Add/Remove Programs‘ tab
  • Select the ‘Webroot SiteAdvisor’ or ‘Webroot WebAdvisor’ from the programs list.
  • Click on the Uninstall/Change’ or ‘Remove’ button.
  • Finally, restart your computer.

Uninstalling Webroot WebAdvisor from Mac

Do note: The standalone edition of Webroot WebAdvisor compatible for Mac does not exist any longer. Mac compatible WebAdvisor is now an utterly in-built feature of ‘Webroot Safe, so uninstalling it would require removing the SecureAnywhere as well. However, in its place, you can do the following instead:

 

  • Firstly, open Ultimate for Mac.
  • Next, click on ‘Identity’.
  • Click on the ‘Webroot WebAdvisor’ present on the left pane.
  • Now, click on the ‘lock’ to make the necessary changes. Enter your password as soon as prompted.
  • Click on the toggle switch present on the top right corner to disable WebAdvisor.
  • Lastly, click on ‘lock’ to permanently save all changes done.

Uninstalling Webroot WebAdvisor from Android

Webroot SiteAdvisor is not available as a standalone product for Android anymore; it is now a component of the Webroot Mobile Security system.

How to uninstall Webroot WebAdvisor or SiteAdvisor that is a part of your security product

Uninstalling from Windows

  • Close all actively running web browsers.
  • Click on ‘Start’ on the bottom left of your Windows desktop.

In the search box:

 

  • Type in control panel’ and press ‘Enter’.
  • In the Control Panel:
  1. Double-click on ‘Add/Remove Programs’ or ‘Programs and Features’.
  2. Choose Webroot WebAdvisor or Webroot SiteAdvisor from the list that follows.
  3. Click on Uninstall/Change’ or ‘Remove’.
  4. As the prompt appears, tick only the checkbox present next to the Webroot WebAdvisor or SiteAdvisor
  • Click on ‘Uninstall’ or ‘Remove’.
  • Restart your device.

Uninstalling from Mac

Webroot SiteAdvisor is an integral component of Mac’s Internet Security. To remove SiteAdvisor, you would have to uninstall ‘Internet Security for Mac’ as well. For further instructions, visit www.webroot.com/safe.

 

Uninstalling from Android

Webroot SiteAdvisor is an ingrained component of the Webroot Mobile Security product. For uninstalling SiteAdvisor from Android, you would first have to uninstall the whole software. For further instructions on going about doing this, visit the link: webroot.com/safe.

 

NOTE: Webroot SiteAdvisor is unavailable for iOS.

 

Uninstalling the Webroot Windows security product

Webroot Windows security products Webroot SiteAdvisor and WebAdvisor are now a single component of the Windows security product. As a means of security, and as part of Webroot’s continuous efforts towards protecting your data, even if you remove the security product, WebAdvisor (or SiteAdvisor Windows XP or Vista enabled PCs), will remain installed.

 

  • To uninstall Webroot WebAdvisor or SiteAdvisor, follow the steps mentioned above.

How to reinstall your Webroot products

If you have uninstalled your Webroot security products, your device remains unguarded.
