How does Maryland Lemon Law Work?

You just got that brand new car, and you can't wait to take it out for a ride. But what do you do when your new car starts giving old car problems, especially after a few trips down the road? Now you have every reason to think and decide that you've got "lemon" on your hands.

Connect with a reputable law firm to address your claim under Maryland Lemon Law.

So where do you drive if your new car has continual problems, and no dealer or repair shop can fix it? Luckily you live in a state that has protection for new car buyers. It is how the lemon law provisions work in Maryland.

When does Maryland's Lemon Law come into force?

1 - Vehicle is registered in Maryland

2-You buy or lease a car, light truck, or motorcycle from a dealer or manufacturer

3 - The vehicle has driven less than 18,000 miles and has been owned for less than 24 months.

4 - Lemon Law may apply if the first owner purchased the vehicle less than 24 months ago and the vehicle has been driven less than 18,000 miles.

Conditions Defining Your Lemon Car

Do you have a new car, truck, or motorcycle that always needs repair? And does the problem reduces the use and market value of your vehicle? Then you can get a refund or replacement if attempts to fix the vehicle defects fail.

The dealer or manufacturer has a chance to fix a brake or steering failure that causes the vehicle to fail safety inspection. You can get your money back or a new vehicle if the dealer or maker fails.

The dealer or manufacturer has four chances to correct a defect that substantially reduces the vehicle's use and market value. You can choose to get a refund or replacement in case of failure.

You can get your money back or replace the vehicle if your wheel is out of service for a total of 30 or more days due to a defect. It need not be straight 30 days out of service.

The remedies for you

You should write to the carmaker immediately if you think that your car is a lemon (if the dealer has unsuccessfully tried once or twice to fix the problem). You also believe the problem has drastically reduced vehicle use and market value.

The manufacturer may refuse to provide you with a replacement or refund. Consult a reputable law firm that will contact the manufacturer to assist you in the process. You can file a claim.
