Ball valve: A Ball valve has a hollow ball that controls the flow of the medium. This type of valve is designed to work under high pressure. The operation is either fully automated or manual. Globe valve: A Globe Valve is used to start and stop the fluid flow. The disc in this valve can be removed entirely from the flow path while opening and closing. It can be either manual or automatic. It comes with a stem which is lowered or raised when it is closed or opened. The flow pattern in this type of valve involves changes in direction which results in greater resistance to flow when there is high pressure. A Globe valve can be arranged in such way that the disc of the valve closes in the same direction of the fluid flow.
Butterfly valve: The main components of butterfly valve are the body, disc, stem, and seal. Large butterfly valve comes with a gear box where the hand wheel by gears is connected to the stem. There is no obstruction in the flow path in this valve which results in very low flow resistance. It provides zero leakage. These valves operate either in fully open or fully closed position. Diaphragm valve: Diaphragm valve consists of two or more ports. They are used to control the flow of the fluid by regulating the area in which the media can enter and exit the valve. The seal in this type of valve is thin and flexible which is used to control the opening and closing of the valve. The diaphragms are made with a rubber material called Elastomer.
