Liquefied Natural Gas also known as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), is a fuel that can be stored in large quantities. In comparison to propane gas, it has an excellent transportation record and is much cleaner. Propane gas is a gaseous fuel that is usually made from crude oil. This type of fuel requires high temperatures in order to gain fuel although it is comparatively low in transportation costs. LPG is liquefied by taking natural gas and mixing it with petroleum-based chemicals. One of the advantages of this type of fuel is its cost-efficiency. It has low transport costs due to its excellent storage and transportation properties. As it is combusted, the temperature does not affect the combustion process at all. There is also no emission of greenhouse gases during combustion as it is already gaseous at the beginning. The only thing that you have to worry about is its volatility.

Since it has low volatility, LPG liquidates quickly and is susceptible to spills. If the storage facility is not secure, there is a high possibility of gas spills. In addition, LPG that are stored improperly can explode. They can also burn inside the storage unit resulting in a huge disaster. There is also a possibility that the stored gas will be vaporized in the absence of heat or oxygen. Another disadvantage of LPG is its inability to meet demand. It cannot be transported long distances due to its density. There are two popular applications of natural gas heating and fuel cell applications. These applications are the ones that make natural gas so expensive.

Despite its drawbacks, there are still some advantages of liquefied natural gas. First, it is odorless and colorless. That is why it is commonly used as a fuel source in automobiles. Since it does not have any volatile components, it also poses less threat to the environment compared to other fossil fuels such as coal and crude oil. Moreover, liquefied natural gas has lesser carbon dioxide emissions than normal natural gases. Some industries use liquefied natural gas due to its cost-efficiency. Some companies do not want to invest in building a storage facility for natural gases as they think that the cost will be more than the value of the gas. However, liquefied natural gas can be stored effectively and safely as it has a low evaporation rate.

Liquefied natural gas is considered to be a highly effective fuel source, especially in the field of heating. It is preferred over other sources of heat as it is cleaner, produces little to no pollution, and lasts longer than the other alternatives. Liquefied natural gases also have applications beyond heating. For instance, liquefied natural gas can be used for diesel engines and generators. Furthermore, liquefied natural gas is used for air-conditioning due to its low boiling point and excellent insulation features. Liquefied natural gases can be stored in a variety of ways. Portable storage systems designed to liquefy the natural gas and then store it for transport are commonly used. These systems allow people to store the gas close to their homes, making it easier to access if needed.
