Apple is continuously adding new features to improve user experience and privacy into iOS 14/iPadOS 14. Right now, iOS 14.4 is available for users, and iOS 14.5 is yet to arrive in a couple of weeks. iOS 14.4 added the Fitness Plus, and a couple of security fixes, but there are still a lot of things to explore in iOS 14 entirely. People that recently switched to iPhone will experience a whole new home screen interface, new widgets, new app icons, and some new apps. There are a lot of features in iOS 14 that should be explored, here’s the list of top hidden features in iOS.

Switch Your Default Browser

Safari web browser is made by Apple, and it has been a default browser for a long time. However, Apple has now allowed the users to choose their preferred default web browser. Setting up default apps is currently limited to only web browsers and email apps. So now in order to set a new default web browser, you’ll have to update your iPhone to iOS 14 or above. To set the default browser, go to Settings>Browser App>Default Browser App. Once you move into the default browser app section, choose your browser as the default browser.

Get Rid of App Home Screen

The App Library in iOS 14 works like an app drawer that allows you to remove multiple apps from the home screen. Apps that you don’t open or use usually, but still you need to keep them in your device, then you send them to a separate App Library. You can hide all those apps from your home screen through some simple steps.

Just press and hold on the blank side of the home screen, and press the Edit option. Click on the page indicator, and then click on the checkmark below every tab you wish to remove. This procedure won’t delete the apps from the device but will move those entire apps to a separate App Library to keep rarely used apps.

Take Stunning Photos on iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Max

iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max are new generation devices with Raw photos format. This new feature is only available on these two new iPhone devices, and the main objective of Raw photos is to improve the look of the image in Photos app.

Make sure your iPhone 12 Pro or iPhone Pro Max is running on iOS 14.3 or above to use Camera’s ProRAW feature. Open Settings>Camera>Formats and switch to the ProRAW mode in the camera app. You won’t have to change your camera mode to ProRAW for clicking pictures continuously.

Search Emoji Keyboard

The most awaited feature, Search Emojis is finally available for iPhone users. Now you can use your preferred emoji by finding it in the search bar of your keyboard. You simply need to type the name of the emoji, and you’ll see the related emojis at the top bar of the keyboard.

Hide Your Photos

Indeed, the hide photos feature has been available on the iPhone and iPad for a long time, but there were some problems with that feature. Anyone can see the photos that you hide in the Hidden folder of Photos app, but things got better in iOS 14. Now you can hide your photos in the Hidden folder, and can also hide the Hidden folder so no one will be able to see it and access it easily.

To hide your Hidden folder, go to Settings>Photos>Turn Off Hidden Album. If you keep the Hidden Album toggled on, then anyone will be able to see the folder. Great thing here for you is that anything photo or video you hide in the Hidden folder will also be saved in your iPhone device and iCloud storage too.

Scribble any Text Field on iPad Using Apple Pencil

You already know that new generation iPad devices are compatible with Apple and some of the previous-generation iPad and iPad Pro supports Apple Pencil. Now Apple has added a new feature named Scribble for iPad users that will convert any field into a text field just by starting drawing or writing through Apple Pencil.

There are some shortcuts are also added to the iPad like if you’re working on a project or creating notes and receive a text message, you can directly pull down the alert bar and reply to it and get back to your ongoing project without opening any app.

Go Back to Previous Page Quickly

Now in iOS 14, you don’t have to press the back option continuously to reach the last page. You can now simply tap and hold the back button for a second and a list of back pages will appear where you can choose on which you want to land directly. By using this feature, you can access your task quickly, and you won’t be required to press the back button continuously.

Conclusion

iOS 14 is upgraded to a whole new level, and if a user really wishes to learn and explore their device, they’ll have to give it some time. From the Operating System to new Shortcuts and their creating process is improved that is worth learning for the quick process with less effort.
