Content Writer & SEO

Obviously, SEO and content writing must have some connection.

Seriously, if your SEO is bad, your content will simply not be discovered by search engines. Other than that, it will languish in the Internet's dark hole at the bottom of the SERP results.

This is detrimental to everyone.

However, there is a flip side to this, which is that regardless of how fantastic your content is, if your SEO is atrocious, the first-page result on Google can only do so much.

If a user clicks on your website and sees an article that seems to have taken 15 minutes to write or is completely stuffed with keywords, they can simply leave and try something better.

Therefore, whether you have employed an SEO company or are optimizing your website manually, let's dig deeper into the relationship between content (great content) and SEO (equally well done).

PROCESS OF WRITING
Before you begin writing any piece of material, you must pause, take a deep breath, and return to the fundamentals.

To begin, keep in mind WHO you are writing about. What does your audience really want and require? Bear in mind that creating quality content is never about you.

If your post is too pushy, readers can smell it a mile away and will immediately leave the web in search of something more useful and important to their lives.

Similarly, conduct keyword analysis. Look for long-tail keywords that you can rank for without sacrificing efficiency (ie. the black hat SEO practice of keyword stuffing).

Then, once you've begun publishing, be thoughtful about your use of these keywords!

Your primary keyword should absolutely be in the title to ensure that users and search engines understand what the article is about quickly and easily.

Additionally, these long-tail keywords should be used sparingly in the article's body, tags, meta summary, and headlines and subheadings.

Then, ensure that your article is well-structured with effective use of H2 and H3 headings. Since people have a difficult time reading lengthy content, ensure that it is broken up into small, digestible chunks.

Utilize elements such as lists and bullet points to communicate a lot of details in a short period of time.

Paragraphs should be brief and succinct – no more than four sentences or lines in length.

Given that the majority of users will begin their quest on their mobile devices, your content must be readable on these tiny little screens.

Having said that, too many short sentences will make your article read like a shopping list, so try to vary the length of your sentences.

Another writing tip is to bear in mind that the most successful online posts are often the simplest! Don't stuff it with huge, complex words just for the sake of it. Rather than that, make it actionable, understandable, and applicable.

As is often the case, if writing is not your forte, simply find an excellent freelancer able to do the legwork for you. Ascertain that whoever you choose is briefed on the article's objectives and has a firm grasp on your company, goods, and services.

LINKS BUILDINGS
We are aware. This is often referred to as a 'black-hat' SEO technique, but link building is no longer solely about purchasing links. Rather than that, write something incredible that other blogs would be compelled to repost!

Additionally, post your content on social media to increase its scope.

Including links to your own website and other areas inside it so that when your excellent article is picked up by another site, you can receive some traffic!

Search engine optimization
When all is said and finished, SEO work will never be complete. Keep an eye on your content's efficiency.

Continue to update your tags and details as you go.

If you believe you've written an excellent article but it isn't gaining enough attention, consider republishing it in a different format or doing A/B research on your headlines.

Google Analytics is undoubtedly the simplest way to track the performance of your content. Examine metrics such as the bounce rate and time on-site to determine how visitors engage with the website following their visit to an article or piece of material.

If you see a high drop-off rate and a low average time spent on the website, this indicates that your content was either irrelevant to their search or, worse, boring.

To be sure, SEO and content writing are not easy jobs. However, they can significantly increase interaction and traffic to your site.

Simply ensure that they function in tandem. Contact SEO Sydney here.
