Course on Quranic Arabic: for a better understanding of the verses of the Quran

Understand the meaning of each verse of the Holy Quran when reading daily. It is with this specific objective that will launch soon a course via online Quran tutors in UK.

For about years, online Quran class courses is been held across the country for learners aged 15 to 75. Special textbooks are used and the educators offer the students a multitude of exercises for a good mastery of the language. The goal of this process is to make Quranic Arabic more understanding for "non-Arabic speakers" so that they can understand each verse when they listen to or read the Quran.

Another objective: to understand the Creator's message in his authentic language, namely Arabic, instead of having recourse to translation. This, in order to get closer to the Creator and to understand what is recited during each salât.

Speaking of learning the Arabic language, more particularly the Arabic of the Quran, in Mauritius, the president of the SIM, Dr Yaasir Ozeer, estimates that if we go back 25 years ago, the facilities for learning Arabic in Quran were non-existent. “We had to take Arabic language lessons while trying to apply it to the Arabic of the Quran, which was not so easy.

But today we can say that Quranic Arabic does exist as a formal learning process where one can aspire to better understand the Quran, thanks to certain Islamic organizations which have noted its importance in the life of Muslims ”, he tells us.

Constant evolution

For Dr Yaasir Ozeer, the Quran lessons online are taught by SIM have had a positive impact on people. He argues that over the years the organization has reached several regions, which means that many more Muslims are interested in taking these courses. “For 2021, there are six different places for teaching level 1 and four others for teaching level 2.

Also, we put a lot of emphasis on the fact that students must meet a minimum requirement in order to be able to continue courses, based on exams, homework but also on their attendance sheet ”, emphasizes our interlocutor.

At the same time, Dr. Ozeer argues that every Muslim should understand why learning Quranic Arabic is essential. “The Quran came as a guide for all of humanity. In order to understand the contents of this guide, fluency in Qur’anic Arabic will help to better grasp the subtleties, emotions and meanings of words in the Quran.

It will also allow us to develop a personal relationship, let's say, with the Koran and to consider it as a means to solve all our worries, “he points out. At the same time, the president of the SIM maintains that understanding Qur’anic Arabic allows for better concentration in prayer. "It will be possible to understand what the imam is reciting," he adds.

 The Quran, a cure

As a physician, Dr Yaasir Ozeer maintains that several verses in the Qur'an allude to healing. For him, this shows us that it is not only drugs and medical treatments that have an effect on the disease. “Islam puts spirituality, that is, the Creator and his word, which is the Quran, into perspective. This is a key aspect in the road to recovery. In the end, it is God who heals and we rely on Him, “he emphasizes.

Dr Ozeer adds that as a physician he must develop humility by recognizing that God is The Healer while he is simply a means to achieve healing. “This is why it is important for us to understand the very meaning of each Quranic verse. On the one hand, we resort to medicine and medication and on the other, we place our trust in God,”he says.
