- Lighting. This goes hand in hand with exposure. If you are shooting outdoors, it is extremely important that the light is just right. Too much light or too little, and you won't get a good image. Practice with different lighting conditions until you get it right.
- Focus. How do you focus a lens on your camera? Use your finger or a pencil to focus the lens. This simple step will make a world of difference. And believe it or not, most amateur photographers screw up this step. Practice with different lenses until you can get it right.

Doing this properly will give you a nice crisp result. - Keep the shutter speed at a medium to fast release. This keeps the camera from having to constantly preview and take the shot. If you can manage, try a manual mode to eliminate the motor and reduce the number of mistakes.
