Which Tech Stack Should You Use?

5 Reasons Javascript is still better than Python.

In the last few years, several programming languages have risen to prominence, so many people are still wondering which tech stack they should build on. Languages like RubyPythonCrystalKotlin and Rust have all made enough noise that programmers across the world have taken notice. While Ruby and Python are still both extremely popular, it’s Python that tops the list and some programmers ever prefer it to JavaScript, even though JavaScript is clearly better.

If you’re still not convinced and wondering which tech stack to use, here are 5 reasons to consider JavaScript over Python.

Experienced developers are more likely to know JavaScript

When a business or entrepreneur, or whomever, hires a programmer for a project, whether locally or outsourcing internationally, having an experienced developer is the most vital part of ensuring a successful project. The problem they run into when choosing which tech stack is that it’s not easy to tell how much applied experience a Python developer has. The same can be said about JavaScript developers of course, but it’s much easier to find an experienced JS expert because of how long it’s been the standard. The majority of seasoned developers who started out in the 90s and 00s are still more likely to be experienced with JavaScript over Python.

JavaScript is better for website development

There’s no contest, when it comes to which tech stack is best for web development, JavaScript is still undeniably better than Python because JS runs in-browser while Python is a backend server-side language.

While Python can be used in part to create a website, it can’t be used alone. Python has to be used to respond to requests that return HTML, CSS and JS. It’s also far more complicated. There are frameworks like Django and Flask to help, but it’s still not the best. JavaScript is the king for desktop and mobile websites, with jQuery, React and Angular providing almost endless capabilities for web programming.

It’s easier to learn

Even though plenty of people have said that Python is easier to learn than JavaScript, it’s not the case for people with a programming mindset. The basics of JS can still be learned in just a few months, and those inclined to give it a dedicated year can immediately start earning good money with just the skills they learned in that year

It provides a straight route into the IT world.

Yes, there are definitely dyed-in-the-wool Python fans who will argue for Python when choosing which tech stack to learn, but if you want to really get stuck into the tech world, JavaScript is key.

Since JS is a very necessary part of any front-end website development, you’ll have the necessary skills to earn good freelance income quicker with JavaScript, even as part of a team.

Looking at the sorts of job listings sites that are prominent today reveals a definite preference for JavaScript programmers. Many businesses may not know which tech stack is best for their project, but if they’re working on a front-end project, they’re going to at least need some JavaScript.
