HOW TO GROW HYDROPONICS, MICRO AND MACRO ELEMENTS

In hydroponic cultivation , as for any substrate, the addition of micro and macro elements helps in hydroponic cultivation , allowing the plant to absorb the substances necessary for proper development. These elements must be balanced correctly and vary according to the stages of growth or flowering.
The main elements also called macro elements that our plants need are:

  • Nitrogen (N)
  • Phosphorus (P)
  • Potassium (K

In the phases of growth or flowering, the percentage of these elements present in commercial fertilizers must necessarily vary and balance according to the various phases.
Nitrogen (N) stimulates photosynthesis by increasing the plant development of branches, leaves and stems of the plant, an element therefore suitable for the vegetative phase of the plant, but good doses of potassium (K) in this phase are necessary for the development of the roots. Phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) are necessary elements for the flowering phase. These elements are related to the formation and development of flowers, the development of roots and the structure of the shoots. Potassium (K) for plants is of fundamental importance for correct growth as it is a fundamental element of numerous biological processes; the main function is the synthesis of sugars and the development of the organoleptic properties of plants by increasing the aroma and flavor of flowers and fruits. Potassium also regulates leaf transpiration by stimulating the opening of the stomata, which are superficial glands that eliminate water vapor.

The secondary elements called micro elements are equally important, some of these elements are:

  • Calcium (Ca)
  • Iron (Fe)
  • Magnesium (Mg)
  • Sulfur (S)
  • Boron (B)
  • Molybdenum (Mo)

It is important that none of these elements are missing in the nutrient solution in hydroponics, but above all their balance in the various phases is important.
