Chemical composition of wool and its chemical properties

When viewed under a microscope, the surface of these fibers appears to be made up of uneven, interconnected cells. The size and appearance of these cells vary in different breeds of sheep. In fine wool the edges of the cells are closer than in coarse wool fibres. Due to the effect of heat and moisture,Pure Wool these fibers become intertwined. Their brightness depends on the size and shape of the celled scales. Thicker fiber has more luster. The inner layer (medulla) of the fibers can be seen in the thick varieties, but not in the finer varieties. The medulla itself contains the pigment of wool. The greater thickness of the medulla reduces the contractile strength of the fibre. Its strength is one fourth more than that of cotton fiber. Buy Macrame Cord Online in India
