Hannah is a full-time mom and a half-time teacher..her husband, Jared is a cartoonist, and their son, Jake is in third grade..he is a super active, intelligent, and inquisitive boy. He is quite independent and loves to go to school..but at home..he needs mommy for everything... especially at bedtime. Daddy dearest has the duty to feed Jake and take care of his bath time.
So, one day out of the blue, Hannah got a message that she had to take her students on an excursion to a campsite for 4 days..and it was mandatory for every teacher to go..Hannah got a little excited as she wanted a break for quite long from the household chores..so, she wished Jake goodbye and willingly relinquished all her household duties to daddy dearest for 4 days..she pretty much expected that Jared would be able to hold down the fort for 4 days..it was not such a difficult task for him.
Day one- It began with Jared getting the breakfast ready..he prepared an omelet for Jake and the same for himself...after getting Jake ready for the school-which was a task in itself, he brought him downstairs and gave him breakfast..but Jake hated it..he wanted pancakes for breakfast just like his mom gave him..and Jared had no idea about it..so he forcefully made Jake eat the breakfast and dropped him off the school bus..the whole day dad was busting around the house doing laundry, making food, cleaning..at night Jake gave a really hard time to his father in sleeping.
Day two- Jake just wouldn't get out of bed and eventually, dad got tired of pulling Jake out of his bed. so, he decided to take a leave from work and make Jake take a leave too..the whole day father and son were having sugary treats like food and they were drinking sodas. Again, in the night Jake gave Jared a lot of trouble while sleeping.
Day three- Jared was strict with Jake in the morning..so Jake got ready on time and had breakfast..he ate anything that daddy offered because he knew daddy was pissed off. Jake went off to school and daddy stayed at home and did all the pending chores..just then, Hannah called to make sure everyone is alive and in a single piece..Jared confirmed that they were okay but asked how did Jack fall asleep? Hannah answered that she reads bedtime moral stories to Jake to make him fall asleep..she even tells him about short bedtime stories so that he could search one and narrate one..and on the very same night, Jake was able to sleep very peacefully.
Day four- Jake woke up before daddy came to wake him up..he was already in clean clothes and he came down and quietly ate whatever daddy had prepared..then, he excitedly rushed towards his bus stop..and got on the bus and left for school which was shocking for Jared. Jared then finished all the chores and when Jake came back, he was still a good boy..to which Jared asked why was he behaving so strangely today..to which Jake said that he wanted daddy to have a break and he never wanted to miss school as he missed it terribly two days ago. So, that night Jake heard another moral story and quickly drifted off to sleep.
Next day mom was back home and to her surprise, everything was as it was and to perfection. She even joked about taking more leaves to which Jared and Jake hugged mom and made her promise to not go again!
