Affordable DIY Wooden Countertop

You guys probably have forgotten all about my butler pantry (which has sort of turned into a sh*tshow at this point), but I am pleased to report some progress with my DIY wood countertops. These babies were easy to construct and I was able to keep the project's cost under $50.

Today, I will show you how to duplicate this process. I also share my progress report on my never-ending DIY butler pantry story.

After four years as a fixer-upper, I have begun to accept some hard facts...

Sometimes, even the most straightforward projects can spiral into more complicated and time-consuming tasks. This is an example. This is the flooring installation in the butler pantry.

To cut the long story short, before we could put floating Luxury Vinyl Tile into our butler pantry we had to remove a significant portion of the LVT flooring that we had just installed in our adjacent kitchen. This was to ensure seamless flow of our click-and-lock LVT flooring. We had just installed baseboards and door trim a year earlier, so we had to remove them and then re-install and paint the flooring. The remodel of one room had a domino effect on two adjoining rooms, the kitchen and powder room. The lesson is that click and lock LVT can only be installed in one room. You must work row by row to secure the floating tiles.

Although it was a surprise pain in the a$$ all of it is behind us now and we can finally focus our attention on the original project- the Butler pantry.
