You just got your very own Sunset Lamp. Naturally, being the avid product tester that I am, knew just had to have hands-on a sunset lamp first to really see how much they really are cracked up to be. If you've been around here for any length of time, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about when I say that we use our lamps for more than simply reading the back cover. Sure, we'll use them to accent different rooms in the house or to give light to a dark corner when we're studying. But one night, we wanted to see what all the fuss was about and went ahead and got ourselves two Sunset Lamps.photo key ring

These things were pricey at the store but we got them anyway because they are a part of a series that is designed to blend different angles of light, which gives off the natural lighting effect. We figured it would be worth it to try it out and to experiment with the different angles of light provided. Here's what happened:

About twenty minutes after getting the first Sunset Lamp, my husband ended up having to go to the emergency room due to an asthma attack. He wasn't breathing properly and was gasping for air, so someone thought it'd be a good idea to perform CPR on him. As it turned out, he passed away a few days later. Because of his death, we had the bright opportunity to prove to our friends and family that using a little bit of natural lighting from our sunset lamp isn't such a bad idea after all.

Our second chance with the sunset lamp happened to occur right before my birthday party. My sister and her husband were having a baby shower and wanted to throw us some small items like napkins and plates to give us a little something to help pay for the event. Well, guess what happened? There wasn't enough room for the little things, so we got two smaller Amazon Kindle Fire devices instead.

We got the Kindle Fire in addition to the two smaller items we had purchased for the event. The problem with this approach is that neither of the Kindle Fire devices provides good or even semi-good night light. Neither device provides the kind of ambient lighting that I prefer. By comparison, our neighbor's yard has a great deal more light than our house does, and we could easily see through the front door and through the dining room windows. So we decided to combine the two items into one unit, a sort of "combination" Amazon Kindle Night Light. To our surprise, the combination worked perfectly.sunset lamp

The best part of all of this is that our neighbor actually uses two different types of Amazon Kindle Night Lights. They have one for the living room and one for the bedroom. We never thought to ask whether or not they used the same projector for both devices, but it was definitely the case. This means that this gadget combines the best features of both sunset lamps and micro plates, in one single display.

This unit is called the Kindle Projector, which you can see on the box. It is basically the same product as the eBook reader we used, only it has an electronic display that projects light using a small projector. You place your fingers over the projector, either by holding it in your hands, or by holding the edge of the device against your face. A screen will then project what looks like a normal ebook onto your screen. The difference is in the actual technology. Instead of using a thin layer of liquid crystal, the Kindle uses an LCD or plasma screen, which makes for much better pictures and viewing.spotify plaques

The Kindle utilizes a technology called "liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) projection technology," which is also used in many other LCD televisions. The main difference is that instead of the liquid crystal displaying the image, it uses something else - essentially a light source. LED's are quite efficient in this regard, and produce the kind of light that is generally used to create a mood. As such, the Kindle Lamp has a very cool and relaxed color scheme, with the red being the dominant hue. It really does make a nice gift - especially if you're giving it to someone who already loves reading.
