Karnataka High Court quashes UP Police’s ‘malafide’ notice against Twitter India head

The Karnataka High Court has rejected a notice issued by the Uttar Pradesh police to Twitter India MD Manish Maheshwari, seeking his personal presence in a communal sensitive case, stating that it was issued with a ‘malafide’ intent.

The Single-Judge Bench of Justice G Narender, however, allowed the police to record his statement via virtual mode or by visiting his office or residence. The court said the notice under Section 41(A) to Maheshwari was issued by malafide as it did not meet pre-conditions.
