In July 2020, Nestlé announced that it would sell its Canadian Pure Life bottled water business to Ice River Springs, a private bottled water company. The agreement is a step that adheres to Nestlé’s announcement to explore opportunities to sell the major part of its Nestlé Waters North America unit. The intent also includes changing the hands of the Nestlé Pure Life brand and the ReadyRefresh beverage delivery service.

 

In July 2020, Zero Mass Water, a bottled water company from Arizona, announced a project near Dubai that would include a process of getting moisture from the desert air and turning that into bottled water. People believe that it would solve the water crisis in the region to some extent and lessen the efforts of digging deep wells to get water.

 

Researchers at Eaulab are planning to devise a process that would filter out microplastics from bottled water. They would also focus on removing other particles that adversely affect the body as they believe pure water is everybody’s right and evolving technologies should guide the process.
