What is Projector Screen? Why they are Gaining so much Popularity in Media & Entailment Sector?

A projector screen is an optical display system consisting of a flat surface and a supporting structure usually made of glass used mainly for showing an image to an audience. Screens are a source of great pride in most film or TV studios and are usually the first piece of equipment purchased by a new movie studio. This is because they can be used not only as an element of the main movie set design but also for commercial or other display purposes. In fact, they form the first components that are seen on any big screen.

There are many advantages associated with both the above mentioned types of outdoor projector screens. FORPGs tend to be more durable than PDS and hence are preferred by most of the users.

There are two types of projector screens: those based on the flat-screen principle and the tilting/hinge fixed frame design. Both provide the source of a perfectly flat and perfectly clear image to an audience. But tilting/hinge fixed Frame Theater screens require additional elements such as electronic screens and speaker bars.

Flat projector are based on the principle of a perfectly flat (mirror-like) surface being projectively projected to an area. The major advantage of flat mirrors is that they can be mounted on walls and at the back of any venue without requiring any modifications or structural alterations. Mirrors are also a major source of glare reduction. A reflective surface is not necessary, but a movable mirror surface can be mounted in any location so as to reduce the reflection from windows and doors, etc.

Flat projector have a couple of disadvantages as compared with tilting/hinge screen designs. First, there is the problem of glare caused by windows and doors. Secondly, they are less portable and are not as flexible as tilting/hinge home theater screens. This means that most movie theaters use this type of screen system.

The second type of screen is the ultra-short throw projector screen. This type has a very shallow reflector lens, which is mounted closer to the surface of the display. The reflector lens is so close to the surface because it must be lined up properly so as to project an image where the viewer can see it clearly. The result is a less intense level of glare than with a regular tilting/hinge home theater screen. It can be used in smaller LCD and plasma TVs and for the projection of lower resolution images such as DVDs.

This type of display is best suited to providing viewers with the ultimate in picture quality. It offers a clearer, crisper picture quality than regular LCD and plasma televisions and even some high-end projectors. Because of the thinness of its design, it can easily be installed between walls and in smaller venues. Due to its extreme ease of use, it is preferred over tilting/hinge screens for movie night presentations. These screens are also much more affordable.
