Video Games 2021

Another week, another bestseller list on Steam. This time there has been an interesting reshuffle. Suffice it to say that the two versions of New World, which were on top for the last two weeks, fell to the seventh and eighth position. It seems that due to the delayed release of the Amazon Games production, players refrained from buying it. The MMORPG's place on the sales top was taken by another unreleased title, namely the cooperative FPS Back 4 Blood from the creators of Left 4 Dead, whose beta tests began last Thursday. The survival game Grounded from Obsidian Entertainment is also on the list - the early access title was available to try for free last week, and it looks like many people liked it enough to decide to own it. The full list of last week's Steam hits can be found here. Steam keys will have the ability to connect, among other things, an external monitor via an additional accessory. The docked Deck will allow for stationary gaming. As the Nintendo Switch increases its performance in a similar mode, designer Greg Coomer was asked if Valve had considered adding a similar feature to its console and free steam keys

Back in early July, we published an article about the alleged problems Sony has in working with indie developers. Or rather, what the latter have with Sony. Iain Garner, co-founder of Neon Doctrine, lamented that the Japanese giant doesn't provide indie developers with enough support, doesn't share statistics with them and doesn't present a clear advertising strategy (many developers don't even know how they can increase the reach of their campaigns on PlayStation Store or other Sony marketing channels for a fee). It's possible that the Japanese have taken the above reservations to heart, because an extensive presentation of seven upcoming indie games for PlayStation 4 redeem codes and PlayStation 5 has just appeared online. There's even a Polish production among them.

Activision, the publisher of the latest installment in the iconic series, is investing significant resources so that Blizzard can create a game that will be played for years to come. It can be expected to be regularly updated with new content for the Nintendo Switch, Playstation and Xbox after its release - whether for single player or online gameplay - but right from the start it should have enough content to keep us playing for a very long time. Blizzard is making great progress on Diablo 4, the game is starting to look extremely good, and the team is using significant resources to create exciting content that will keep you interested for years to come," said Daniel A. A., Blizzard's CEO. - Daniel Alegre, CEO of Activision, said during the investor meeting. This shouldn't come as a big surprise to those who have played the second or third installments of the series in the past. Both were enough for hundreds, if not thousands, of hours. After completing the story campaign, many people went on to play through Battle.net to spend many days and evenings in front of the computer with other players. Alegre also commented on the mobile game Diablo Immortal. Although its release was recently postponed to next year, the Activision CEO is happy with how the project is progressing. Nintendo Switch, Playstation, and Xbox continue to pass more tests and receive positive feedback on gameplay. Looking forward, we see great potential in this game code both as a standalone experience and as a way to expand the brand's reach ahead of the Nintendo Switch, Playstation, and Xbox releases.
