spinal stenosis surgery

spinal stenosis surgery: the conditions of spinal stenosis are characterised by the narrowing of space between the vertebrae; the surgery to treat the disease aims at improving the distance between the vertebrae where the nerve is getting compressed and causing trouble. Th procedure is termed laminectomy as it involves removing the lamina o the vertebrae, thereby increasing the space, consequently easing the pressure from the nerves. This procedure is also referred to as decompression procedure as it involves decompressing the nerves. The surgery can be done both by minimally invasive technique and by the traditional methods. The surgery is followed b intense physical therapy to regain muscle strength and maintain mobility.
