Swaddle blankets and swaddling

The first time my newborn baby slept all night I was surprised. After only four hours of uninterrupted sleep, I jumped out of my bed so that he was still breathing. I found him sleeping peacefully in his shaking blanket. As a new parent, one of the biggest challenges is getting the baby to sleep. Using swaddling blankets and swaddling techniques is an effective way to help your baby sleep comfortably for longer periods of time. Read on to discover the benefits of the many ancient practices of swaddling.

Definition of swaddling

Swaddling is the process of wrapping a baby tightly, protecting the limbs, using long strips of cloth, blankets, or baby wrappers.

Swaddling Soothes

By mimicking a comfortable and protected fetal environment, shaking helps to calm an insane or colic baby and keep the baby in that comfortable position for a long time. Like the womb, the shaking provides warmth.  If the child puts what he calls a developmental swaddle with his hands close to his mouth, the child is able to calm down.

Swaddle for safety

Involved can help children fall asleep on their backs, a position that has been proven to reduce sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). Also, according to the Journal of Pediatrics, in December 2002, children sleeping on their backs were less prone to SIDS than non-Swaddlers. Swadling also eliminates the need for extra blankets that can be a risk of suffocation and if you hold your baby by the arm, you will prevent the baby from scratching with his fingernails.

Swadling helps sleep

The children who are hanging out sleep well. In a study from the University of Washington, they found that involved children wake up less and get twice as much REM sleep, which is thought to be important for brain development. Swaddling prevents the baby's limbs from making involuntary, sudden movements that can wake your baby.

Swadling helps with breastfeeding

With shaking, feeding is made easier so that the baby’s often scorched limbs help the baby concentrate on feeding.

Important note

It is normal for a child to quarrel initially. Give your baby at least a week to hug.

Some children prefer to be out with one or both arms.

Swaddling is best for babies from newborn to three months old. It is best to stop chasing as soon as the baby can change on its own.

When you hug your baby, make sure that the blanket or baby wrap does not touch your baby's cheek as it can trigger his "routing response" and disrupt his sleep.

There are several different swaddling blankets on the market. Some people prefer their regular blankets because they are easier to use or more effective. The Miracle Blanket is my personal choice because it seems to keep my daughter asleep for the longest time. I also like the Kidopotamas Swadelme Adjustable Infant Muslin wrap because it’s really easy to use.
