How to Increase Web Traffic and Know How Many Visits Your Site has?

Getting to increase the Web traffic of a project on the Internet, whether you have a blog, a corporate site or even an eCommerce, is vital to improve the evolution of our digital strategy.

Why? Because a growth in the number of visits that your project's site or online store receives makes it even more competitive, favoring both your marketing plan and improving the commercial results that you are obtaining.

But, increasing the Web traffic of a business is not a very simple task, it requires a correct strategy and a lot of long-term work from a good digital marketing company. Although, contrary to what you might be imagining, this task is not something that is out of your reach either.

Let's suppose that you have a modern, responsive website (that adapts to any screen), with a blog since, according to what they told you, the only way to position yourself in Google is through the generation of content.

But… after several months, daily visits are clinging to mere double-digit numbers, perpetually refusing growth. You regularly upload news about your company, your new products, and blog promotions. What is doing wrong, that visitors do not deign to arrive? It is precisely the type of content you are generating.

In this age of Online Humanism, the fact that you have launched a new product or that your company has two new employees, matters as much to your visitors as the current climate at the top of the Himalayas.

Your current client, whatever his field, is only interested in himself and his own self. Today we have a problem and we look for it immediately on our cell phone. We want to see an episode of our favorite series and we do not have to wait for it to be repeated on television: we look for it on the Internet, at that precise moment. Any doubt, question or need we have, we turn it over to this virtual oracle called Google.

Thanks to mobile phones and tablets, with their plasticity in providing Internet access from anywhere, we are all day connected to this great source of information that Google organizes for us.

Add to this the fact that in these times, no one has time to waste. We are increasingly cornered by these 24-hour limitations that do not give us space to do everything we want.

So, I ask you: Why do you think your potential customers will stop their lives to read the "great news" that your company has new products to sell or that you have hired new employees?

I, current Internet user, worthy representative of Humanism Online, I care about my problems and I want to solve them now. Not because I'm a wayward only child - but because Google made me that way!

How to track your website

Keeping up with audience growth is important, and one of the benefits of being online is that you can keep track of all the metrics you need. Here are some easy ways to see how your site is performing:

Google Analytics

Google offers several tools to measure the data on your website and thus obtain more statistics on visitors. Online marketing services offer Google analytics tracking.  Solutions range from free basic tools to sophisticated business statistics. Learn more on the Google Analytics website.

Social media metrics

Most social media platforms offer a basic measurement of data. To get a clear picture of your progress, track your follower count, growth over time, and post engagement (1% to 5% engagement is considered satisfactory).

Next steps

Once you start building an online audience, look for some of these pointers to help you optimize your efforts and get to the next level.

Conversion

Does your site have a lot of traffic, but are you getting few sales or few subscribers? If people leave your website in a rush, it could mean that you need to improve it to retain visitors and drive them to take the actions you want (like buying a product) or it could also be a sign that you are targeting the type of incorrect visitor.

Testing

A great way to get valuable feedback on your website is to run some usability tests. This means allowing real people to test your site and see how they react.

Distribution

If you receive a lot of traffic on a social media platform, but it is not reflected on the website, perhaps you should strengthen the connection between the website and the social media accounts. If you create and publish content in one place, it is important that you spread your work everywhere and promote it on various platforms to avoid splitting your audience. Also, be sure to include links to related pages on your site in your social media posts. Also, include links to your social media accounts on your site so visitors can easily like and follow you on those media.
