Celebrations Around The World for the Best New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve parties across the world are eagerly looked forward to by their respective population; there’s so much pressure around making the greatest night of your life on this particular occasion. If you’re one of those people who are hooked on celebrating a grand New Year’s Eve this year, this one’s for you.

Places Known For the Best New Year’s Fireworks

Sydney, Australia

Every year, more than a million people gather at the famous Sydney Harbour to watch the firework extravaganza. The best way to see the harbour fireworks is to join the New Year cruises bobbing in the water. You can also hire a boat for a private party with your favourite people to have the best time ever. Choose the populous glass boat Sydney NYE cruise to splurge on extra luxury and a sophisticated ambience. Enjoy the views from the front-row seats on board these cruises or a waterfront restaurant/cafe to take in the pyrotechnics in all its glory.

Reykjavik, Iceland

The Icelandic capital’s midnight fireworks are a spectacular sight. Go on an Iceland new year tour to experience and uncover a wholly different side of the country. One of the best things you can do is go to a neighbourhood bonfire to witness the New Year’s Eve ritual in Iceland. This is a great opportunity to mingle with the Icelandic people who come together with their friends and family to dance and sing by the fire.

New York City, USA

The bustling energy of Times Square combined with the dazzling lights is a perfect destination to welcome the new year. As the clock nears midnight, the anticipation runs high and the New Year’s Eve Ball descends atop One Times Square. Also, Times Square is where you can spot a celebrity or two.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

New Year comes during the midsummer in Rio de Janeiro and for the same reason, around 2 million people come together on the Copacabana beach for samba and champagne. To find a good spot on the beach, you might have to start staking your place from 10 pm. Also, it is customary for the people in Rio to wear white on New Year’s Eve as it’s believed to bring luck.

Goa, India

Rightfully known as India’s good-time state, Goa hosts a wonderful New Year’s Eve celebration with fireworks and other fun activities all along its coast. Some people say, Goan parties are not the same as they used to be. But you can always head over to Anjuna where you can be a part of an unforgettable night for sure. World-class DJ, fairy lights strung on every coconut palms, sequined sari skirts fluttering under the starry sky, everything looks magical in Goa on the last day of the year.

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Amsterdam is one of those few cities in the world that’s always down to party. On the last day of the year, this conveniently compact city stages an amalgam of street frolics and mesmerising fireworks bursting over the River Amstel at Magere Brug, aka Skinny Bridge. Do visit Nieuwmarkt(Chinatown) to experience its rambunctious atmosphere. Amsterdam’s EDM scene is also another good reason to attend a New Year’s Eve in this city. This amazing rave features international DJs held at the industrial gas holder which was built in 1902.

Koh Phangan, Thailand

Thailand is not distant to partying on the beach. But on New Year’s Eve, the country hosts one of  the wildest parties at Koh Phangan, home to the world’s most famous full-moon party. The celebrations start as soon as it gets dark and it goes well into the night till noon the following day.

Intrigued much? Maybe you can start planning your New Year’s party in one of these destinations right away! Go for a New Year’s Eve dinner in Sydney, or go for a beach party in Thailand.
