How to Chose Pageant Dresses For Girls

What attire and accessories are suitable for my daughter who would like to take part in pageants?

Beauty kids dresses for girls might be seen as a hoot by some, however, girl pageants are like any competitive sport. Children must study, train and concentrate to win. Understanding the right way to stand and walk as well as observing manners and being able to think quickly under pressure is also a long process that requires focus, discipline and endurance. As with any other sport, parents are expected to spend money on pageant dresses as well as training, costumes and coaches. As with any sport, a child will learn to pursue the need to participate in the game and do what is necessary to be successful.

In the same way as sporting activities, your child can learn to make the most of her performance in pageants. They will be taught how to interact with people. A girl in her early years will learn how to dress and impress people. She will learn how to handle stress. She will discover how to cope with both the loss and victory. Pageants  more can build character, too with the help of an adult.

Many people view pageants for girls with a sense of disgust. This is usually due to any aspect of the event that is taken to its extreme. Make-up and costumes that make children look like miniature adult skanks could be a reason behind this. Guardians' extreme way of pushing girls to win may add to the distaste.

If your daughter would like to participate in pageant contests, your family can suggest that she join in, as long as goals and values are clearly communicated to the entire family. Young girls like to doll with pageant attire look pretty and be a winner. This is a given. It is up to the parents to maintain a balance and be vigilant to the best interests of a child's health, morals and overall character. It's the way parents want for their children, right?

The most important thing is balance. Let your child achieve the very best she is, in a manner suitable to her age and general well-being. Pageants can show the best in her, but parents should step up to help balance appearances and personality.

Dressing for Girl Pageants

Being able to be a mature girl in a pageant does not mean your little girl has to look boring or ugly. In fact, young girls are full of natural beauty and joy. Being too busy causes natural beauty to appear dull and icky.

Formal dresses for girls

The formal dress styles for girls are timeless. Whatever era, young girls are always cute and trendy in regular sleeveless with a waist that is medium and a long skirts made of formal fabric. Different styles of sleeves can be adorable, however long sleeves may not be appropriate for a young girl (and appear outdated too.) Fabrics must be lovely but not too fragile especially for a little girl which can cause her to become restless or irritable and could damage fragile fabrics.

The color of the dress could be light or pastel. Pink is the most popular color for girls in the teen years, but there are lots of different colors to express the character of your child pageant contestant. A different color dress will make her stand out. Happy earth colors can also be worn, as well as jewel tones, if in the season (usually in the autumn). Also, you can use earth-colored colors and jewel tones as accents for a lighter-colored dress. Black is usually too severe and appears odd on a young girl.

The dress can also be embellished or embroidered however, keep the embellishments small and classy to be appropriate to a girl in her early teens.

Shoes

Shoes must be elegant, but comfortable. Little girls can put on the Mary Jane style or flat shoes that have formal accessories. Shoes that are high-heeled are harmful for the back and legs.
