Watch and download your favorite movie from mkvmad

I must have seen a hundred shitty movies since I last found one because this one is the absolute, well-hidden highlight. Troubled teenager Chris (Jamie Bell), his ailing older brother Tim (Devon Alan), and their father John (Dermot Mulroney) live on a small pig farm in rural Georgia, where they work hard and in isolation. You can easily download and watch this movie from mkvmad.

This movie is exactly what a Southern movie should be

One day, Deel (Josh Lucas), their estranged uncle, shows up and seems intent on making peace with his brother. When Deel reveals his true intentions, Chris and his brother flee to get rid of Deel and protect the cursed treasure. This film is exactly what a slow Southern movie should be, but it sounds like it belongs in a Brothers Grimm fairy tale. There's nothing here that doesn't make sense, that couldn't happen in real life without someone thinking about it, and everything that happens feels incredibly fairytale-like.

The tension is perfect in the first third of the film

The perfect combination of these two seemingly incompatible elements is the basis of the film's greatness and subtle genius. The tension in the first third of the film is perfect. It makes good use of time. While the premise more or less tells us what is going to happen, the introduction is designed to explain why we should care about the violence that is about to occur. All four characters develop organically for us without long and unnatural explanations. We watch as amnesty is introduced between Chris and John, and then Deel gently drives an ever-deepening wedge between them, increasing our fear. And long before we worry about Chris, we may already be worried about Tim, who can't eat something he shouldn't.

He is so South America that he reminds me of his friends

He's fat, abused, and dirty; no one notices that he's caused his illness. In the first episode, we learn almost everything we need to know about Chris. It's as if he's just playing for laughs because when he's released from prison, he goes straight to work. He finds his goodness in this story. I'm a fan of Jamie Bell, but maybe I was kidding when I saw the movie because I completely forgot he's British. Here he is so South American that he reminds me of my friends who were born and raised in Mud.

It seems to have come out particularly well in this role

He has a quiet charm that shows physically and not just through dialogue and facial expressions. It's a quality that usually characterizes him, but it seems to come out particularly well in this role - a contrast-enhanced by a fuzzy edge that's appropriate for the film. We rarely know exactly what Chris is thinking, and we rarely need to know it to understand him. Having thought about him for years as the son in Sweet Home Alabama, I'm incredibly impressed with Josh Lucas and the way he effortlessly layers ugliness and evil under the charm of romantic comedy to create a truly terrifying character - but even he evokes sympathy at times. I didn't recognize Dermot Mulroney at all.

The pictures in the film were very dirty and rusty

He and Devon Alan do an impeccable job with their characters, but they're just not as watchable as the other two. There's also a very young Kristen Stewart, and all the supporting actors seem utter, genuinely, and uniquely themselves as they pass us by. At first, I didn't like that some images froze when the dialogue continued into the scene. Before. The images in the film were so dirty and worn down that the beauty was almost subliminal. But the visual style was intentional and ultimately as important as anything else. Without embellishing the details, the film reached a point where quality entertainment suddenly meant something powerful and personal.

The film was released in 2004

I felt like I was always on the same wavelength as the director, but then it all took an incredibly important step forward, and it took me. Undertow is a film for people who are fascinated by history, who watch films to be turned on and not off, who don't need every moment and detail explained to understand its importance to the plot and the characters. When the film was released in 2004, it received no attention and many indifferent reviews. It was ahead of its time; if it had been released today, it would be compared to Muda and praised on the same level. There's more at stake in both Southern dramas than meets the eye.

The same coherent story

On the surface, amid the dirt, sweat, and brawls, the basics remain the same: a coherent story, complex characters, and acting so simple and good you forget they're acting. But this isn't just a lighthearted family drama that happens to be well told; this is a legendary, momentous story that's both artful and thought-provoking. A true treasure patiently waiting to be discovered. You can also download your favorite movies bollyfuntv for free.

This is not a casual family drama

There is more at stake in both Southern dramas than meets the eye. Superficially, amid the dirt, sweat, and brawling, the basics are there: a coherent story, complex characters, and acting so simple and good you forget they are acting. But it is not a casual family drama, which must have been well told, but it is a legendary, meaningful story, which is both artistically and crafted. It is a year that could be a great success.
