Attaining the Chartered Status given by Engineers Australia is no less than the power to rule in the engineering field. The two main benefits of being a CPENG Australia or Chartered professional engineer your value as a professional engineer will increase, and your way to promotion becomes obstacle-free.

So, if you are an engineer desiring this status, then you must know its requirements, process, documents and the like. Knowing them better, you will be in a position to apply for the same.

Having taken your desire into account to help you, we have prepared a list of the process steps and the required documents. So, that you can familiarize yourself with them and attain this status to raise your standard or level as a professional engineer in Australia.

Online CPENG Chartered professional engineer application process

The following are the six steps of the online process of Chartered professional engineer application:

  1. Start by completing the Chartered Self- Assessment, giving a competency rating as per the Stage 2 Competencies.
  2. Complete the Industry Review to the standard of Functional or Above. The Industry Review includes offering a short statement of the elements of evidence that you may have to show your Chartered competence for all the Stage 2 Competencies. These statements will be required for confirmation by a suitable Industry Reviewer. Don’t forget that you don’t need to submit actual evidence documents at this stage in the process.
  3. Enroll and pay providing CV and CPD Log. You will be required to confirm the practice areas you are looking for Chartered, and you also need to link your completed Industry Review to your application at this point.
  4. The Assessors will then get in touch with you for an Evidence Discussion (usually within 3 weeks of your enrolment). This discussion is a chance for you to seek clarification and ask questions before submitting your evidence documents for evaluation. The Assessors will have reviewed your Industry Review results and may suggest alternate proofs to be submitted. They will also discuss the practice areas selected. On the completion of the discussion, you will be required to upload your evidence documents. If the Assessors feel that an Evidence Discussion is not important and will instead simply offer comment to this effect and request your upload that is based on Industry Review.
  5. On the completion of your review and evidence document assessment to bring satisfactory results, a Professional Interview will be fixed. This interview will consume at least an hour and include a broad discussion of the evidence provided throughout your application. A presentation may be needed and will be confirmed when arrangements are done. The interview will be taken using Skype or similar video-conference arrangements and will have one Assessor at least (it could include external industry panelists).
  6. After the interview, you will get an email notification that will confirm your Chartered award and Areas of Practice. You will also receive an official certificate in the mail just after a while.

To be kept in mind: 1 and 2 can be begun while you are the grade of student/graduate or a non-member.
