The world's number one amateur player Nakajima shot 67, equaling 7 players for first place in the Dubai ranking, and his Masters and British Open Championship are coming soon. United Arab Emirates - The Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship kicked off on Wednesday. The British Open fans can buy British Open Tickets from our website.

Seven players, including Chinese defending champion Lin Yuxin and top Japanese amateur Keita Nakajima, took the lead with a score of 4 under par. The ideal start.

Lin is trying to become the first three-time champion of the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship, which began in 2009 and won championship seats in the US Masters and British Open. Nakajima has secured the Mark H. McCormack Medal for being the number one among amateurs.

Next to them is Lukas Michel of Australia, who won the US Intermediate Amateur Championship in 2019, while Sam Choi of South Korea is 14th in the world amateur ranking (ranked fourth among Asian players).

Placed 28th in the PGA Tour Zozo Championship two weeks ago, Nakajima has won the Japan Golf Tour Championship. In a round of the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, he teed off on the 2nd hole but caught only 6 birdies on the next 11 holes. He was slowed by a three-putt bogey on the 16th hole.

The 67-year-old also includes Alexander Yang of Hong Kong, Wooyoung Cho of South Korea, and Jimmy Zheng of New Zealand, 23 players shot 70 in the first round.

Nakajima and Lin played together. Lin began his college career at the University of Southern California and is now a junior at the University of Florida. Joining Hideki Matsuyama as the only two-time champion, Lin won the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship in 2017 and 2019.

"He caught some nice birds on the first nine holes, I really enjoy playing with Yuxin and I followed him," said Nakajima. "I didn't pay attention to his score, but being level with the defending champions was always a good thing. There are a lot of golf balls to play, so we'll see." The top 50 and draw continue after 36 holes.
