The city of Madinah lies in Saudia Arabia as the second holiest city of Islam because of the fact that the Roza-e-Rasool (SAWW) is present here. Pilgrims arriving from across the globe in the region for hajj and umrah rituals through their cheap packages also visit Madinah for Ziyarath purposes then Book Umrah Packages with them. Though visiting Madinah isn’t obligatory for a pilgrim i.e., none of the rituals of Hajj and Umrah are associated with it, it’s a highly recommended act because of the great rewards it holds.

The virtues of the city of Madinah are of exceptional significance for the believers because it’s the city of our Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW).

Here’s a brief description of some of the holy places in Madinah for Ziayarth.

Masjid-e-Quba.

Masjid-e-Quba was the first Masjid to be built in the history of Islam and that’s why it holds great importance for the believers. It’s among those mosques about which Allah Almighty has also mentioned in the Holy Quran (Al-Quran 9:108).

The site of Battle of Trench.

The Battle of Trench derives its name from the fact that a ‘Trench’ (Khandaq) was dug by Muslim soldiers with a defensive approach in preparation for the battle. In addition, the battle of trench also remains among the greatest battles ever fought in the history of Islam.

The Prophet’s Mosque.

The Prophet’s Mosque i.e., Masjid-al-Nabawi (SAWW) is present in the holy city of Madinah. It not only remains the most prominent place to visit in the city for Ziyarath purposes because it’s the second holiest mosque but also because it is the second-largest mosque in the world as well. In addition, it’s the resting place of our Holy Prophet (SAWW) as well i.e., Roza-e-Rasool (SAWW) is present here.

The foundation of Masjid-al-Nabawi (SAWW) was, in fact, laid by the Prophet (SAWW) himself. At that time, the mosque served many purposes; it used to be a community center, a school, a court and also a confinement for prisoners.

Masjid-al-Nabawi (SAWW) holds many spiritual rewards religious secrets for the believers i.e., sacred places are present inside Masjid with exceptional significance. For instance;

  1. Al-suffah Bench.
  2. Riyadh-ul-Jannah.
  3. Roza-e-Rasool (SAWW).
  4. Ustuwaanah Aisha (RA).

Masjid-e-Qiblatayn.

Masjid-e-Qiblatayn is the mosque where the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) was instructed by Allah Almighty to change the Qibla direction from Al-Quds (Masjid-al-Aqsa in Jerusalem) to Holy Kaabah (Masjid-al-Haram in Makkah). Thus, the whole Masjid-al-Nabawi (SAWW) was then re-orientated to the south i.e., to face the Holy Kaabah.

Masjid-e-Ghamama.

Masjid-e-Ghamama also referred to as the ‘Mosque of Clouds’ is a famous Ziyarath place of Madinah. It derives its name because of the fact that when the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) prayed to Allah Almighty for rainfall inside of this mosque, suddenly clouds appeared and rain fell.

These are some of the famous places for doing Madinah Ziyarath.
