So here we bring, one of the most enduring traditions of our country “The Embroidery” belonging to different parts of our country.
Now a days anything which is handmade is a paragon of luxury and this has popularized and rekindled embroideries in sarees, Long Anarkali Dresses, Cotton Kurti with Palazzo, dupatta etc.
Designers worldwide are seen working with the finest regional artisans and with the dedication to the very famous style of embroidery, launching their collection.
It is a delicate handmade work done artfully on fabrics like silk, muslin, chiffon, organza etc.
This type of embroidery is generally done on breathable and thin fabrics as the needle used in chikan cannot pass through thick fabrics.
Using the applique technique this embroidery is done where the zari ribbons are cut into small pieces and applied onto the fabric with sewn edges to create patterns.
The Vivanta hotel was to be designed based on the guidelines set by IHCL for a new age trendy and modern 5 star base category city hotel catering to the young and dynamic discerning traveller.
The idea was to make the space modern and luxurious yet understated.
Ultra violet was a clear colour defined in the design brief and we had to play around this colour as a primary colour.
The budget was to be kept tight considering the ARR (average room rate) for this brand.
The design team started from choosing white Satuarrio tiles to white Calacata to laser cut customised tile inlays as a base material to overlay the ultraviolet with yellow ochre, bottle green and mint colours.
The design has a retro modern look with the bar being designed on a modern industrial style keeping in mind the client profile that the hotel was looking for.
