How Is Hemp Oil Different Than Temp Tincture?

The benefits of hemp are quite recognized by people across the world. It is known for offering instant relief against pain, inflammation, anxiety, and other health concerns without necessarily making you “high.”

Due to the worldwide recognition, many people have started investing their time in learning more about hemp oil extract.

But again, with so many hemp products easily available, people have their own share of doubts. One of the prevailing doubts is, “how is hemp oil extract different than hemp tincture?”

In this article, we will take a look at the difference, therefore helping you comprehend each type.

1- Taste

When consumed orally, hemp oil tends to have an unpleasant taste. It can leave an oily aftertaste. But tincture, being designed with the intention of oral and sublingual consumption, tends to come in different flavors like vanilla, peach, chocolate, etc.

Unlike hemp oil, tinctures tend to absorb quickly when ingested sublingually, that is, by placing under the tongue.

2- Base

Hemp oil contains cannabidiol as an oil base or carrier. The hemp tincture, on the other hand, has an alcohol base.

But regardless of their base, both hemp oil and tincture mimic similar therapeutic properties.

In fact, both hemp oil and tinctures are widely used to get relief against stress, anxiety, inflammation, and other similar health concerns.

3- Shelf life

Compared to hemp oil, tinctures generally have an extended shelf life. This is because tinctures are made using ethyl alcohol or isopropyl alcohol – both of these act as a preservative.

It is easy to spot an expired hemp oil due to the slightly cloudy and foggy appearance in the oil. To extend the life of any hemp product, it is best to keep them away from direct sun contact.

4- Price

The cost of any hemp product depends directly upon the potency, strength, extraction method, etc.

Typically, the cost of 500ml hemp oil and tincture is roughly the same. But, usually, high-quality hemp oil can fall on the expensive side of the price tag than a tincture.

5- Ingestion method

When it comes to ingesting hemp oil, vape is the most preferred choice. In fact, the consistency of hemp oil is more suited for vape devices.

But, when it comes to hemp tincture, one can ingest it directly through the oral or sublingual method. Or, if you are feeling a little crafty and creative, you can always mix the tincture with food and beverages of your choice.

Signing off

Even though both hemp oil and hemp tincture are quite discreet when it comes to consumption, there is quite a difference between them.

We are sure that this article was able to distinguish those differences for you.
