This is the responsibility of the transaction management module, which controls client-server interactions and ensures atomicity through the implementation of the 2-phase commit protocol. Transaction management also sets up connections to the task of logging (e.g. logging messages) during normal operation so that recovery measures can be taken in the event of an error.
