Quick Guide For the Your Concrete Floor Painting Process

But although Kennesaw basement floor painting sounds pretty interesting since flooring made from concrete appear lifeless, a number of individuals are somehow reluctant to invest in this renovation. In all honestly, before doing this, one should know that this is actually a tedious process and will actually require you to be patient, especially if they are going to do the coating themselves.

One of the basic and most important steps to start this renovation is to prepare the surface itself. You need not rush to the hardware store or shop to select and buy the color of the coating that you want. What you should do first is to make sure that the flooring is devoid of anything that might cling to the coating which you will have to apply later and render it ineffective.

This should be accomplished thoroughly and the flooring should be completely devoid of dirt, grease and other old stains that can be removed. There are available chemicals to help you address this.

Curing compounds must also be devoid or put to a minimum concentration on your Floor painting Kennesaw since it has a tendency to interfere with the sticking of the coat to the surface. As long as the curing compound concentration appears relatively high, it is not good to proceed with coating the flooring for it might only break off after awhile.

Relative to curing compounds, the flooring should also be devoid of moisture. If moisture is found visible in the surface, it should be removed or coated with other coating to seal it off prior to application of the paint as the same would interfere in the adhesion of the material to the surface.

Prior to coating, it is also necessary to assess the profile or general feel of the surface. For this purpose, it would be best if the surface has a medium sand paper feel as this guarantees perfect adhesion of the coat. If this is not yet achieved, it would help to apply acid etcher on the floor. After application, one should ensure that the acid is removed thoroughly from the surface with the use of good flowing water. Aside from it will ensure that your floor is ready for coating due to a good profile, it will also improve adhesion.

Complete cleaning

See to it that you sweep or blow away all dirt and loose debris from the area to be painted. Likewise, clean fully the surrounding areas of dirt, leaves, debris and other materials that could come through the garage door to soil your floor again.

After sweeping, you have to wash the complete surface to be coated using a pressure washer. Preferably, use the one with between 2500 and 3500 psi. It is important, however, to be extra careful as pressure water can cut into the Kennesaw basement floor painting. If you don't own a pressure washer, you can easily rent one from rental centers.
