Is Flat Tire troubling you? Consider these tips

Flat tires are a common occurrence. Anyone can succumb to it no matter how careful they are. Therefore, there's no doubt about the fact that even the most experienced drivers can suffer from this problem. But you don't have to worry if you consider the below-mentioned tips.

1. Pullover at a safe spot

If you experience a flat tire, the first thing that you should do is to pull over at a safe and wide spot, especially one with fewer automobiles in place. It is advised that you find a spot that is quite far from the shoulder of the road and call a Tire repairing service in Victoria, BC

However, don't opt for a place where it becomes difficult for the oncoming traffic to see you. After finding a suitable spot, turn on your hazard lights along with setting the parking brake.

2. Use the equipment you have

Certain equipment like a simple jack, lug wrench and a spare tire can usually be found in a car. Therefore, use these tools to fix the problem if possible.

You should start with the wrench in order to make the lug nuts lose. To access the lug nuts, you may have to take out the hubcap or plastic covers. Remember that you only have to loosen them simply and not take them out at once.

3. Use a jack to lift the vehicle

It is important that you place the jack in the right position under the car. If you are unable to find the correct spot, search for marked areas as some automobiles have these marks behind each tire.

If you don't find the marks, check the manual for the appropriate position.

4. Use the spare tire

After removing the lug nuts, take out the flat tire by pulling it straight in your direction. Keep the spare tire in line along with the lug nuts and push it towards the wheelbase. Place the nuts and tighten them with your hand to ensure the spare stays on the car when the jack is lowered.

5. Tighten by lowering the tire

After completing the above-mentioned process, it is time to bring the car back on the ground. The best way to tighten the nuts is by tightening one nut halfway, then moving to the one placed diagonally in the opposite direction and tightening that nut too halfway.

After doing so, tighten both the nuts. Use this method for tightening the remaining nuts. By doing so, you ensure that the tire has been placed evenly.

Conclusion

With the help of these tips, you can fix a flat tire without much difficulty. But if you are unable to do so, it is best to call a Tire repairing service in Sidney, BC.
