Different Types of Industrial Filtration Systems

Industrial filtration systems play an important role in a lot of industrial operations. Generally speaking, industrial filtration systems are excellent for minimizing waste, and by extension, saving money and increasing production. There are a few different types of industrial filtration systems, each with their own unique functions and purposes.

Oil Water Separators

Oil water separators are a type of industrial filtration system that is specifically designed to help eliminate tramp oil from coolants and wash water. They are often used in the metalworking industry. Oil water separators are popular for a variety of reasons, including their ability to reduce the need for reservoir pump outs, their ability to efficiently rid fluids of tramp oil, and because they are generally pretty easy to operate and are often pretty low maintenance. This type of industrial filtration system can improve a machine shop’s operations by leaps and bounds.

Coolant Recycling Systems

Coolant recycling systems are another type of industrial filtration system. Like oil water separators, coolant recycling systems are commonly found in metalworking facilities, machine shops, tube mills, and other similar facilities. The main function of a coolant recycling system is to clean used coolant by separating out tramp oil and suspended solids. Once these contaminants are removed from the coolant, it can be used again.

Coolant recycling systems are highly valued industrial filtration systems because they can help save a great deal of money. Companies that operate within the industrial sector often end up spending a lot of money on waste disposal (for getting rid of coolant that is contaminated and unfit for use) and on fluid purchases (for replacing coolant that has reached the end of its service life). Because coolant recycling systems extend coolant life, they allow companies to cut back on waste disposal and fluid replacement costs.

Without industrial filtration systems, the industrial sector would be far more wasteful and far less efficient.
