Warning Signs Of Renal Failure

Renal failure is termed as the injury of the kidneys due to which either your kidneys stop working almost suddenly. Since your kidney is responsible for the cleaning of waste products from the blood, its failure results in building up of this waste material also known as electrolytes and accumulation of these can result in rather deadly effects for the body.

Hemodialysis is a therapy used to remove waste and extra fluids from the patient's blood. During the hemodialysis process, the blood is pumped through a soft tube into a dialysis machine that has a special filter called a dialyzer or artificial kidney. Once the patient's blood is filtered it is returned back into your bloodstream. Hemodialysis treatment is normally done approximately 3 times a week, with each treatment lasting about 3 to 5 hours. In the course of this process very small amount of the patient's blood is out of the body at any given time.

Renal failure symptoms are the symptoms that identify the presence of a kidney related problem in the making. Normally the individuals that face these problems include Older aged individuals Patients with a history of Diabetes, liver or kidney conditions, obesity, heart failure or accelerated blood pressure.

Patients that have been in the ICU for belly or heart surgeries or have undergone bone marrow surgery

The renal failure symptoms are listed below though they may not be clearly felt by individuals who are already very sick as the cause of renal failure may be producing rather different symptoms altogether. Also some people may feel no symptoms at all at least in the early stages while some may feel rather weak signs. Common symptoms include Flank pain or pain in the back area just under the rib cage.

Feeling restless or confused. Some people may also face excessive sleepiness.

Frequent vomiting or nausea loss of appetiteSwelling conditions in the feet and leg area Difficulty in passing urine or no urination at all Dryness feeling in the mouth or feeling rather thirsty all the time.A dizzy feeling when you suddenly stand up.A more fast heart beat rate Fatigued feeling Lethargy Pain in the abdomen

A constant metallic taste in the mouth

These are some of the common renal failure symptoms through which doctors suspect a renal failure. The reasons why these symptoms occur include. Due to renal failure, the body fails to perform the cleansing function and a thirsty feeling is felt by the individual and a condition of dehydration generally develops which induces an all-time thirsty feeling, lightheadedness or a feeling of faintness especially if you do some heavy work is felt. Also in such a condition, a rapid but weak pulse is observed.

If the renal failure is due to the blocking of urine in the kidney, symptoms of less urination or pain while urinating is observed along with lower back pain mostly on any one side is felt. A prolonged or rather serious renal failure situation known as Uremic syndrome can cause nausea, heart seizures, and irregular heartbeat rhythms in a patient.

Renal failure is curable in many cases and after treatment, the kidney function returns to normal however in certain cases the loss is irreversible and the situation gets rather progressive. The symptoms of renal failure begin to establish as the waste material or electrolytes begin to build up in the body and severe accumulation of these waste material including the increased levels of potassium in the body can even kill a human.

Kidney Disease

When the kidneys are damaged, they can suffer from acute kidney injury (also known as acute renal failure, or ARF). This can happen anytime the kidneys suffer an extreme shock or injury, when blood flow is constricted or even when urine is backed up. Your body is a system, and when you interfere with the workings of that system, it can shut down or be disrupted. For example, when a body becomes too dehydrated, it can go into muscle breakdown as a result of renal failure (this happens to runners or athletes often).

When a body experiences renal failure, the body experiences a drop in its glomerular filtration rate, the rate at which blood is filtered in the glomeruli of the kidney. Kidney failure or injury isn’t normally caused by a disease; it can be the result of day to day actions. This is preventable acute renal failure treatment and can be avoided by taking better care of your body and paying attention to what your body tells you about water and the need to use the restroom.

Sometimes, the body can bounce right back from renal failure; we’re pretty resilient creatures. Still, if a decrease in kidney productivity continues for more than three months, or if a kidney fails to recover from an injury, this can easily lead to Chronic Kidney Disease. This can be particularly dangerous, as the symptoms of this disease often come when it is already too late to prevent the disease from happening.

Your kidneys contain millions of tiny filters called nephrons, which remove waste products from your blood, as well as excess water. This goes on to become urine, which flows through ureters, which are tubes that lead to your bladder. If any part of this process is stopped, then waste product can build up in your body, particularly your blood.
