Internationally Acknowledged Farmer Policy Scientist Shashank Kulkarni delivered Lecture on World Water Day

Internationally Acknowledged Farmer Policy Scientist of Central University of Jammu Shashank Dattatray Kulkarni delivered Expert Lecture at the occasion of World Water Way on the topic 'Indian perspective on Water Conservation'. Kulkarni said that the water conservation policies should be formulated by considering indian traditional knowledge. Indigenous knowledge system can provide sustainable solution to the issues related with the water. The programme was organised by National Institute of Hydrology (NIH), a research and development organization under Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India. The programme was a part of celebration of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. 

 Dr. Ravindra Vitthal Kale, Scientist ‘D’ (NIH) and event coordinator, apprised Shashank Kulkarni for his valuable contribution in agricultural and farmers' policies.


Sh. Leela Dhari Sharma, Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Central University Jammu welcomed guests. Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Samba District Sh. Rajinder Singh (JKAS) graced the event as Chief Guest, Dr. Ajay K. Singh, Assistant Professor, CUJ was nominated by Vice-Chancellor, CUJ to be the ‘Guest of Honour. Sh Subhash ji, retired headmaster and the social worker has also graced the occasion. At the beginning of the function, the dignitaries planted tree saplings on the campus of the Kendriya Vidyalaya. The lighting of the lamp ceremony followed by dance by students on “Saraswati Vandana” song and musical composition of “Jalstuti” by Miss. Radha Sharma and students team of Kendriya Vidalaya. Dr. D. S. Bisht Scientist B briefed the gathering about WHRC, NIH.
