Plexiglass and polycarbonate are the right choice for a variety of applications. These products can be used for storm windows, storm doors, and other areas where lightweight and strength together with safety glazing are critical. GoGlass stocks a variety of thicknesses, colors, and sheet sizes to meet your specific needs.
Plexiglass
Plexiglas is a brand name for the general product category of acrylic. Acrylic can be used in a wide variety of applications where its performance and properties are superior to glass. In some cases, it can be used in place of safety glass, although it can be subject to scratching and yellowing over time. Standard thicknesses for clear acrylic include: 0.100 inch, 1/8”, 3/16”, ¼”, and 3/8”. In addition, white, gray and bronze tinted acrylic is available in similar sizes.
Custom colors and thicknesses can be purchased as a special order item. Acrylic mirror is also available. All of our acrylic products come with paper masking to protect the surface from scratching until the product is ready to use.
Polycarbonate
Polycarbonate is often known by the brand name Lexan™. Acrylic can be used in a wide variety of applications where its performance and properties are superior to glass and acrylic. In some cases, it can be used in place of safety glass. Standard thicknesses for clear polycarbonate include: 0.100 inch, 1/8”, 3/16”, ¼”, and 3/8”. In addition, white, gray and bronze tinted polycarbonate is available in similar sizes. Custom colors and thicknesses can be purchased as a special order item. Polycarbonate sheets with Ultraviolet (UV) and scratch protection are popular in application such as protective panels for stained glass windows.
All of our polycarbonate products come with paper masking to protect the surface from scratching until the product is ready to use.
