Most Beautiful US Cycling Trails

There's no denying that the US is ravished with numerous untamed sights to explore. But what many keen travelers and adventurers don't reckon, is that the best way to see some of those gorgeous sights is by bike. A person would need a lifetime to explore all of the cyclings trails the US has to offer, however, there are a few most beautiful and invigorating cycling trails that every person should try out. Of course, setting aside that this is a wast and unexplored land, from coast to coast, anybody could brag about cycling to America's most exhilarating cycling routes, so here are some you cannot miss out on!

The Sun Road, Glacier National Park, Montana

This cycling road is, to put it plainly, utterly majestic. Setting aside the fact that you would need a few hours to climb to the top, it's is a perfectly manageable and completely rewarding experience. Once you cycle your way to the top, you will have splendid views of mountains and glaciers, and if you are lucky enough, you might spot bears, bighorn sheep, and mountain goats. This US trail starts at the Apgar visitor center, and you would need to head up around 3,300 feet to Logan Pass. Don't be disheartened by how steep the road is, because it's gently carved into the side of the mountain and you would be able to get a fair share of spectacle views of the glaciers, wildflower meadows, rivers, valleys, toothy peaks, and mountains.

Grand Staircase, Utah

As the US weaves a wonderful web of cycling routes, it’s no wonder that the Grand Staircase is the number one cycling trail for most people. The route is just beyond the famous Bryce and Zion parks, which are loaded with tourists, but as you leave the narrow roads, you would transit to the canyon. The name Staircase indicates that you are about to transit from the canyon to the plateau, and once you elevate to the plateau, you would be mesmerized. Of course, you would need to get quality womens bikes  so you could elegantly and agilely navigate through spiraling roads. Along with the trial, you will see far across the backcountry merge into stunning red rocks, and you will have the unique opportunity to cycle along a truly memorable landscape.

McKenzie Pass, Oregon

One of the mildest and most soothing US cycling trails in the McKenzie Pass. In order to get to this flabbergasting road, you need to descent on Oregon's Highway 242, starting at the Dee Wright Observatory. Both novice and experienced cyclists would love this trail as it compresses all the wonderful things a cyclist could want – sights and thrill. You start the trail in Sisters for a long ride that slowly climbs a bit to Dee Wright, then you can stop at the lava rock formation and marvel at the panoramic view of dense forests and snow-capped mountains. After the break, you pass the observatory, cycle downhill until you reach the glorious McKenzie River that gracefully twists into a car-free road and majestically plunges down the green forest.

Big Sur, Highway One, California

“An early bird catches the worm." This road is filled with an abundance of challenging endeavors, but if you want to fully experience all it has to offer, you should start early in the morning. You would be cycling along the cliff perched above the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean, passing quaint beach town, and wind through lovely Redwoods. The cycling trail is solely for the breve, as besides the stunning oceanic panorama and breathtaking scenery it's a 90-mile route with a few tough climbs. You will have the chance to take a break to reward your efforts and soak up the sun and astonishing sights of the Pacific. Highway 1 through Big Sur is undoubtedly one of California's cycling escapes that you shouldn't miss out on.

Red Rock Canyon, Nevada

If you wish to paddle through one of the most scenic places in the entire US, you simply must go to Red Rock Canyon in Nevada. This amazing drive is about 20 miles from the Las Vegas Strip, but you have the chance to leave the hustle and bustle of this city of light behind and maximally enjoy the sublime dunes, imposing cliffs, and many other roadside gems. However, you will need to pay careful attention as falling rocks are a real hazard here, and very often loose debris can impede you from cycling meticulously. Even though you would be far away from many "official" rest stops and any cycling repair facilities, this trail should be added to your bucket list.

Tour of the Battenkill, New York

Those who are eager to cycle through the rural part of Washington County would certainly love the Tour of the Battenkill. This is America's largest one-day cycling race for both professionals and amateurs. Bear in mind that this is a hillier version of Paris-Roubaix and it has a lot of rumbles along the route as well as railroad crossings and dirt-road extravaganzas. Along this 68-mile route, you would need to get prepared for punchy climbs and exciting crossings, but anyhow, it would be a wonderful experience.

Greenville Watershed, South Carolina

Not many people are familiar with all the outstanding gems that South Carolina has to offer, but that's bound to change. South Carolina is home to some of the best and most ravishing cycling trails in all of America. Across the country, you will be able to find fantastic cycling trails, but probably one of the most engaging is the Green River Cove via Watershed to Saluda, Holbert Cove, and return up to Green River Cove Switchbacks. It's 50,9 miles long and with a few fun climbs and descents. If you carry full equipment, you will be able to cycle without break and truly experience this bonafide southern biker’s paradise. Gently undulating hills, long stretches of road, no car traffic, ideal weather, beautiful surroundings, what more can you ask for?

Ocean Avenue, Rhode Island

Rhode Island does have a significant number of cycling roads, even if this location won't be the first choice for many cyclists.  Ocean Avenue in Newport is a stunning ocean trail with perfect ocean vistas on one side and historical sensations on the other. Gilded Age mansions follow you along your way as well as graciously landscaped lawns. With that sight, and with lapping waves and boats on the shore, you have a captivating adventure on your way.

Not many cycling trails in America are as picturesque and sprucing as the above-mentioned ones. With careful planning and good organization, you would surely have a great time discovering these awesome hidden gems on the comfort of your bike.
