Angela Rose, our special guest, is here to show us how to stencil floor tiles quickly and easily – have you ever considered doing something like this? Angela shares her amazing home projects on Instagram @angelarosehome, so go check it out to see even more beautiful ideas. Do your flooring, fireplace, backsplash, or stairwell have plain, monotonous tile? I felt the same way... I decided I'd had enough of waiting and saving for a major renovation, and I wanted to take action. So I stencil bathroom floor for around $100, and I adore how it turned out!

You can totally do this, and I'll give you all the details so we can finally get rid of those boring beige tiles! To begin, you'll need a tile floor stencil . This AMIRA stencil was purchased from Dizzy Duck Designs UK's etsy shop. There are so many cute patterns to choose from, and you can even have it cut to the exact size of your tile if you request it. Make sure you measure your tile precisely (to the nearest 1/16 inch). I experimented with different options on spare tiles to visualize what colors and combinations I wanted to use (you could also use cardboard).

Don't skip this step because it's crucial for the paint to adhere to the tiles. I cleaned my tile thoroughly, applied liquid deglosser, and sanded it with 120 grit to remove the sheen and roughen it up a bit. Zinsser 1 2 3 Primer can be used on floors for added durability. I then used blue painters tape to tape everything off. Now you're ready to start painting. To keep your floors clean, use a blow dryer similar to a mini leaf blower to blow away small debris. Begin by painting the base color on your tile (I used Rustoleum Chalked Paint in Aged Gray). I used a good paint brush and only needed one coat, but you can add more if necessary. Allow for complete drying. Visit us online at https://www.howdoesshe.com
