What to Bring for Summer Vacation

It's summer time! Time for vacations, long days on the beach, and overall just a break. Whether you're going abroad or not, it's time to pack yourself some essentials like water, portable charger, food, woodies sunglasses, and more that will take you through your stay with comfort and ease. Here is a list from the most common of necessities to those that are actually awesomely necessary that should be brought along for the ride.

Documents Required at Destination

Some customs agents are not overly keen on digital documents shown on your phone. Try to print your key documents off before traveling, if possible, including:

●    pre-travel test

●    vaccine certificate

●    recovery certificate

●    hotel confirmation or Airbnb receipt for your quarantine, if needed, of course.

Cash & Cards

Try to exchange cash before you fly, and use your cards for backup. Airports, in particular, will give you a very poor exchange rate once you land. A top-up card can not only give you a better exchange rate at ATMs, it can also act as an invaluable barrier between your cash and your home bank account.

Woodies Sunglasses

You'll need a good pair of woodies sunglasses. Nothing is worse than heading to the beach and realizing that you forgot your sunglasses. It will save you money on buying another pair and make sure that you are comfortable while riding out those UV rays.

Water

You should also bring something to entertain your thirst. If you know you're going to be outside for a while or at least on the beach, you'll want to bring some water so you don't end up dehydrated. If it's hot and sunny outside, chances are you'll be a little thirsty by the end of the day so make sure to bring some refreshments for yourself.

Phone & Charger

Remember to turn off data roaming when you board the flight. Once you arrive and turn airplane mode off, you can rack up heavy charges in seconds in other countries. A protective phone case is a worthy investment, as your phone is such an important device. And consider a second cable charger, particularly as iPhone cables often fray and break.

Sitting Accessories

The last thing you'll need are some beach accessories. This includes things like a beach chair, sandals, and swimsuits. It's always a good idea to have these things on hand so you are always prepared for your next beach trip. You'll be able to sit back and relax in your chair, walk around on the sand, or go swimming with no worries about what others will look at you.

Travel Blanket

Look for a travel blanket that packs up into a pouch. That way, you can attach it to your carry-on without taking up space. A/C in particular on long flights can make the plane very cold, so it’s always good to have a blanket that covers the length of your body.

Medication

Likewise to toiletries, medication should be taken seriously. Pharmacies in other countries may not be open on weekends or it may be difficult to explain your symptoms in another language.

Pack any medication you need, which may include medication for:

●    Prescriptions

●    Pain Relief

●    Allergy Medication

●    First-Aid Kit

●    Insect Repellent

●    Vitamins

There's no better way to spend your summer vacation than having fun in the sun. Even if it's only for a few hours out of each day, it's still better than sitting inside all day. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you bring the proper sun protection or woodies sunglasses so nothing bad can happen.
