We are currently in the Spring season. It's a season full of joy, love, hope, and light! The chirping of birds and the blossoming of flowers! Yes, the ground is content, but the sky is as well! The Covid epidemic erupted in 2020, but as the year came to a close, the Winter Solstice Great Conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter provided us with an unforgettable experience! Our solar system appears to be in a good mood again this year! Since March, the Planetary Conjunctions 2022 have been in full swing. In the skies, there's a massive planet party going on. People in the Northern Hemisphere have numerous opportunities to watch Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus in the sky! I'm really looking forward to it, and I'm sure you are as well!

What is the Great Conjunction, and what does it mean?

The Great Planetary Conjunction is a simple word that describes the appearance of two or more planets in the sky close together. The feeling of proximity is only an illusion since the planets are so far apart. They look to be very close to each other to the naked eye, however they are actually rather far apart!

It is said that two planets or celestial objects are in conjunction when their right ascension or ecliptic longitude are the same. The distance between the objects or planets is shorter than the normal distance in a conjunction!

The distance between two planets typically ranges from 0.50 to 0.90. However, there are instances when the planets appear to be even closer together. We saw it last time as the Great Conjunction 2020, when Saturn and Jupiter appeared to be only 0.10 of a degree apart! But now we have the Planetary Conjunction of 2022, which is nothing short of a cosmic gift! It's a spectacular event that you may witness with your own eyes! You can either use binoculars or enlist the assistance of an Astro-enthusiast to view it through a telescope! So, let's learn more about the cosmic happenings we'll be witnessing!

May's Intriguing Conjunctions!

Some of the May conjunctions may have already been seen by stargazers and Astro-fans. And if you're a morning person, you must have appreciated the show!

A waning crescent moon passed between Mars and Jupiter on May 24 and 25. Venus appears as a brilliant star-like object. Jupiter was the brightest star, followed by Venus. Mars, the gleaming red dazzling star, is edging closer to Jupiter. It can be seen in Jupiter's right direction. There's also Saturn, which is located to Jupiter's right.

Conjunction of Mars and Jupiter on May 29, 2022!

So we're getting closer to the magnificent day, May 29, 2022, when we'll witness Jupiter and Mars collide! Early risers will be in for a treat, as they will be able to witness this marvel 60 to 90 minutes before daybreak! Jupiter will have a brighter appearance than the other two planets. Mars, the lovely red planet, will be snuggled up to Jupiter's right side!

As Jupiter moves away from Mars on May 30, Mars will appear more to the left of Jupiter, preparing for its great opposition on September 26! When the Earth passes between the Sun and Jupiter, opposition occurs. Jupiter is on the other side of the Sun from the Sun. Jupiter will be at its brightest, thanks to the Sun, around this hour, and it will be visible all night! But, for the time being, it's the Great Conjunction 2022, which takes place on May 29! And we're all waiting with baited breath for it!

Let's have a look at the features of Mars and Jupiter as well. They belong to our solar system, and Mars is our next-door neighbour. So there you have it -

Mars is the fourth planet in the solar system, situated between the Earth and Jupiter! It is frequently referred to as the Red Planet! Canyons, volcanoes, a dry lake, and craters abound on this rocky world! It has a tiny layer of Carbon Dioxide and Nitrogen in its atmosphere.

Jupiter - Unlike Earth, Jupiter is not a rocky planet. It is neither as huge nor as hot as it appears to be to launch thermonuclear reactions. It is shrouded in heavy clouds of crimson, brown, yellow, and brown hues! It looks like it has stripes! We've arrived at the rings. The Halo Ring, the Main Ring, the Amalthea Ring, and the Thebe Gossamer Ring are Jupiter's four rings.
