The industry attracted almost $4 billion in FDI from Apr 2000- Mar 2022. 


In May 2022, the MSME ministry inaugurated the Center of Excellence for Khadi (CoEK) at Delhi to produce innovative fabrics and garments for the domestic and overseas market. 


A total of $1.62 billion was allocated to the textile industry in the 2022-23 union budget.
