Things You Shouldn’t Miss Out At Victoria Falls

One of the natural wonders of the world, Victoria Falls is a stunning sight to behold. This massive waterfall can be visited from Livingstone (on the Zambia side) or Vic Falls (on the Zimbabwe side). There are many things to do in Victoria Falls. Listed below are a few of them:

Visit Victoria Falls National Park:

Walking the cliff path in the Victoria Falls National Park is one of the best ways to experience this natural wonder. During a full moon and when water levels are high, you might see a spectacular Lunar Rainbow or Moonbow—a rainbow visible only at night.

The Zimbabwe side of Victoria Falls National Park is a lush rainforest reserve and offers some of the best views of the falls. A footpath meanders through the park and out onto viewpoints that give you a view of four of its five sections: The Devil's Cataract, Main Falls, Rainbow Falls and Horseshoe Falls.

Go Rafting On The Zambezi River:

White water rafting is one of the best adventure activities for experiencing Victoria Falls. The rafting season runs from August through January, when water levels are lower and thus provide optimal rafting conditions. The Zambezi has a number of grade 5 rapids and terrifying drops along the way that make it one of the most exciting places in the world to go rafting. These Grade 5 rapids are sure to make your heart pump and your adrenaline rush. If you’re lucky, you might even flip off your boat and get to experience nature’s washing machine!

Walk along Knife Edge Bridge on the Zambian side:

From Zambia, the second deepest falls of the series, the Eastern Cataract, are visible to the naked eye at 101 metres deep. However, this side also offers an incredible opportunity to get exceptionally close to the cascades of water, as you can walk along the paved paths on the edge of Victoria Falls and feel spray on your face. During a high-water season, from February to July, you can cross Knife Edge Bridge, a walk 100 metres above the gorge that is exhilarating and terrifying in equal measure.

Take a dip in the Devil’s Pool:

The Devil’s Pool is a deep, natural swimming hole created by thousands of years of erosion. You can swim in it without getting swept over the edge because there’s a rock ledge on the lip of the falls.
