It will help you get assessed to prove that you have the right amount of knowledge, skills and experience in the three main areas of competency: management, occupational and professionalism.
Only if you pass this assessment, you will become a Chartered Member and be able to use the designation MCIOB.

Experience and academic requirements:
You must satisfy the academic eligibility requirements, along with at least 3 years of related work experience (5 years if in case of having your qualification no in the built environment or a non-honors degree) before you start your application. You are required to have a Level 6 (degree) level qualification or higher to fulfill the academic eligibility criteria.
Membership:
You need already to be a non-chartered member (Applicant) of the CIOB. If you are not an Applicant member yet, you will be required to register for an online account. Having done that, apply for membership. Consult a CIOB Professional Review expert to know more about this.

Guidance notes:
It’s wise for you to read the guidance notes that you will get with the application form, detailing the supporting documents that you need to submit with your application. For example, you may submit your latest CV copy and a current record of your CPD.
Verification:
Your application has to be endorsed by your line manager, a client, or a construction professional who knows you very well. You can know more about this in the guidance notes that you will get with your application.
Professional review application processing time:
When the CIOB assessment authority receives your application, then you can expect the whole process to consume nearly 8 to 12 weeks. It may take a much longer period if any information or documents is not in your submission.
