The Important Role Of Halal Certification For SMEs In Their Product Export

The term Halal is related to Islam and its dietary laws in drinks and meat products from process to preparation per Islamic laws. Halal certification clarifies the food or the products are permissible or halal for Muslims and others who follow the Islamic diet with no haram product or procedure used in manufacturing, processing or delivery. Halal certification significantly increases the stability of SME products and describes the importance of halal certification of processed foods to increase export because they believe that the product is halal. And the government's concrete steps in implementing the Halal Certification for SMEs allow the manufacturers and distributors.

Many certifiers work in halal certification globally, but the most authentic and trusted certifier in Canada is the Halal Monitoring Authority (HMA). Last year Imams and Ulama received complaints from the Muslim society and individuals from the Halal industry that other things have unnoticed following the Shariah. So, the Halal Monitoring Authority assemble a team to ensure the Toronto Halal Food solves the problems of the Muslim community.

The team of HMA inspected 13 chicken abattoirs, four meat, seven other processing plants and fewer manufacturers and retailers. The process adopted by the halal monitoring authority involves poultry, Halal Meat Toronto, and all food products from the slaughterhouse (checking of machinery and all other types of equipment), packing and then delivery. HMA certification and labeling allow the community to make choices and deliver halal products with assurance.

Halal certification can assure consumers that the products have the process with halal machinery, materials and ingredients. And these products are hygiene sanitation standards and can consume guaranteed halal and food safety.

Producers who have halal certificates earn more because halal food is not only part of Islamic laws but its emphasis on health and hygiene. Halal certification has increased competitiveness and their annual turnover for SMEs as an increase in export products like;

  • The halal logo ensures that the products manufactured are guaranteed to be halal and safe and assist in increasing exports.
  • Halal certification increases sales and expands marketing.
  • Increase in product's economic development and consumption not only by Muslims but also by non-Muslims.
  • Meet requirements of export, especially in non-muslim regions, helps in export. A halal certificate is necessary for SMEs because it adds value to products and facilitates access worldwide.

Halal certificates add value and reach greater market access with a massive turnover that is an opportunity for SMEs.
