What is Waterproofing Admixture?

Waterproofing admixtures are porous materials that can absorb water and contaminants in the water. Hydrophobic and pore-blocking ingredients react with cement hydration process products to form a hydrophobic material that resists external water, reducing absorption into the concrete.

Waterproofing admixtures keep structures from deteriorating. They increase durability while decreasing maintenance costs. Admixtures of various types are used for different parts of a structure, such as the roof, basement, or walls, as well as for different locations, climatic conditions, and structure purposes. Waterproofing admixtures are used in a variety of construction and infrastructure development applications.

Crystalline waterproofing technology can be applied to existing concrete in several ways, including as a slurry coat, as dry-shake powder for new slab construction, or as an integral admixture. The admixtures are available in mixer-ready pulpable bags, which eliminate the need to pack the product around the jobsite. They are also easy to use and provide unique green construction benefits. Moreover, crystalline waterproofing admixtures do not interfere with indoor air quality.

Another feature of the waterproofing mixture is its strong durability against ultraviolet rays. The composition's smooth surface and non-deformed texture make it suitable for use on inclined walls.
