Manipulation techniques
Nowadays one often hears about the manipulation of another person. It is a reprehensible way of behaving. However, why do you still find people who teach these techniques and think they are doing it for the benefit of others?
The use of manipulative techniques is widely regarded as a reprehensible practice. I believe that this should indeed be the case. Our mind has certain imperfections that others can dishonestly exploit to force us to act, against our initial will.
So while there is no doubt that it is not ethically correct to manipulate another human being, I believe that everyone should be familiar with these techniques. It is worthwhile for everyone to take an interest in how they are manipulated on a daily basis. Only in this way can we protect ourselves from it.
It is surprising how few people know that the easiest people to manipulate are those who believe they are not susceptible to any manipulation.Such people leave their mind completely available to those who would use tricks on them. Manipulation of such persons is extremely easy.
There are no individuals who are not susceptible to manipulative techniques. We only differ in the degree to which we realise this. We are even bombarded with new information every day. Our brains are unable to process it all in a way that is conscious to us. And even if it were - we would quickly go mad from the excess impressions and information.
We don't need to know everything, we don't need to pay attention to everything. Over time, we learn what is worthy of our attention and what is not. This is when our brain starts to take shortcuts. This is to our advantage, but it is at this point that we can be taken advantage of by those familiar with manipulation techniques. Learning these techniques will allow us to erect something like gatekeepers in our mind to warn us against such attempted attacks.
