How To Estimate Moving Budget

The Estimate

Before any contractual commitment, the removal company must provide self-storage services Dubai  an estimate to the consumer. This free document is also accompanied by the general conditions of the moving contract. Several pieces of information must appear on either of these two documents:

Company References;

customer's name and address;

expected period or date of execution of the move;

place of loading, place of delivery and distance to go;

date of establishment of the estimate;

indication of the volume of furniture;

exact definition of the chosen service;

procedure according to which the customer can make reservations;

payment terms ;

corporate responsibility;

amount excluding tax (excluding taxes) and including tax (all taxes included);

mention that this price is final and that the mover cannot charge additional costs, unless the terms of the estimate are clearly modified in this direction.

The Declaration Of Value

This is a form that the consumer is normally asked to fill in at the time of the quote.

It includes the list and the value of each piece of furniture that the consumer considers to be greater than the amount of the fixed compensation per piece of furniture which appears in the contract.

Consignment Note

The consignment note is a mandatory administrative document that follows the furniture throughout the duration of the moving service as agreed between the consumer and the mover. It can be drawn up in paper or electronic form and includes the following elements in particular:

name and address of business and consumer;

method of carrying out the transport;

volume of furniture;

loading and delivery locations;

deadlines for loading and delivery.

The consignment note is produced in four copies including:

one retained by the mover;

one used to track furniture in transit and handed over to the consumer at the end of the move;

one acting as a delivery note ;

one corresponding to the double of the delivery note (kept by the consumer).

The respective tasks of the consumer and the mover

Before The Move

The mover assesses the volume of furniture to be transported and the difficulties of dismantling, evacuation of furniture, parking, etc.

The consumer informs the mover about the conditions of access to the new accommodation and does not forget to show him, if necessary, the cellar, the attic, the storage rooms.

Moving Day

The respective participation of the consumer and the mover is normally specified in the special conditions of the contract. In all cases, the remover does not undertake, unless otherwise agreed, to remove the rods, chandeliers and carpets, to clamp the household appliances or any other operation which normally falls within the competence of another body of trades.

Billing

The price mentioned in the estimate being final, the mover cannot charge additional costs to the consumer. Responsible for the estimate that he has established, he is required to assume any cost surcharge resulting from a poor assessment of the volume to be transported, the dismantling time or even difficulties of passage.

The mover also bears any loss of profit resulting from random events (bad weather, accidents, etc.).

Responsibility Of The Mover

The consumer does not have to establish the liability of the mover, this is presumed in the event of:

loss or breakage of an object;

delay on delivery.

The liability of the mover can nevertheless be excluded if he can prove that the damage is caused by:

a case of force majeure;

a defect in the thing transported;

or that the fault is attributable to the consumer.
