High blood glucose levels brought on by insulin hormone dysregulation characterize the severe condition known as diabetes mellitus. The prototype's accuracy is 79% when using pictures from the finger. The accuracy drops to 62% if it is taken from the ear. These outcomes are reassuring despite the small size of the current data set. Future research on the prototype must, however, address three major issues: (1) expanding the database to increase the robustness of the artificial neural network model; (2) examining the influence of outside variables like skin colour, skin thickness, and ambient temperature in the current prototype; and (3) enhancing the prototype enclosure to make it suitable for straightforward finger and ear placement.


Numerous research teams have been working to create wearable sensors for continuous blood glucose monitoring, but as of this writing, no non-invasive glucose monitors have proven to be commercially effective. The accuracy of a glucose sensor must be more than 15 mg/dl (0.8 mmol/l) in order to produce a sensor system that is usable. Continuous glucose sensor systems may develop in the future to be predictable, picky, trustworthy, and appropriate for patient use.
